Tester Christine is in her early 40’s and used M Lab Anti-Aging Day Treatment Cream for a month.

“If you’re willing to put up with a little discomfort to get a glowing, healthy complexion then
this cream is worth every penny of the £100 it costs. As soon as I put it on, I could feel the ‘65%
clinically active ingredients’ at work on my face. It gave a slightly uncomfortable burning/tingling
sensation which lasted for an hour or so for the first week, but became less obvious after that. The
upside to this is that it did give my complexion a really healthy glow and left it also
looking firm and toned. I liked the not-too-thin consistency of this lotion and it
suited my slightly dry skin, but it did sit on top of the skin, leaving a pale white sheen
and also made my complexion feel slightly oily which meant I couldn’t put my make up
on until it had fully absorbed. So, this is definitely a ‘treatment’ cream and not just
a ‘moisturising lotion’. It may have had some effect on reducing fine lines and wrinkles,
but the ones that give me main concerns – on my forehead – didn’t seem to benefit.

All in all, this cream acts how you’d hope an ultra-expensive one would, but needs longer than
a month it seems, to start acting on the crows feet!

It’s £100 from Harrods.

Nicola tested The Fragrance Sampling Service:

I think the concept of the sampling service is a great one, the only fragrances I’ve ever purchased online are ones that are my favorites that I’ve already had before, and so to be able to buy samples before you commit to a whole bottle is a great idea it saves me scouring ebay for them which I have done before purchasing a new fragrance. The price of the samples vary depending on how many you buy so the more you buy the cheaper each fragrance sample becomes but the added bonus of 10% off a full sized bottle is a nice touch. You can pick from a range of 20 fragrances for women and 16 mens scents, which will be increasing if this service becomes popular. The samples arrived the day after the order was placed which is great and was packaged as simply as possible in a bit of bubble wrap so there was no breakages, the samples come in a glass 1.5ml tube without a spray top which could be annoying if you’re using the service to add some new smells into your scent wardrobe without the intention of purchasing a full size bottle as I don’t like to dab perfume I like a good spritz. I had no problems with my order, its a very smooth service and all the fragrances sent we’re the right ones. Overall I think it’s a great idea and should prove popular and as it does the range of fragrances will increase making it a better service to try. http://www.dmfragrances.co.uk/perfume-samples

This time, Aija, a TV presenter in Latvia, tested Ruby & Millie Hot Gloss Lip Gloss designed to plump up your pout.

“Being a TV news reporter in a “crazy for the looks” country like Latvia is already a challenge. So I’ve seen and tried a few things, in cosmetics, trust me. I don’t fall in love with many products, but recently I found a great thing – Ruby & Millie Hot Gloss! I want to warn you that you will either love it or hate it. Hate it because it could be too strong for sensitive lips, but for mine it’s perfect because it makes your senses go the way normal lipstick never does. It literally makes your lips tingle hot then cold. And, my boyfriend just loves the smell of it, also.”

Hot Gloss is available from Boots, £12.

When the British Beauty Blogger was looking for a tester for Chakra 1 Balancing Body Mist and Light the Way 2009 Earth Month Candle, 30th Anniversary Edition, I jumped at the chance. I have travelled to India a number of times, and have been a fan of Auyervedic oils for a long time. I also love lavender and grow a lot of it in my garden.

I’ve been using the Chakra 1 Balancing Body Mist for about a week now. The Balancing body mist contains patchouli, vetiver, and olibanum to leave you feeling well balanced. I first sprayed it on the back of my neck whilst working on the computer, having a particularly stressful day. The Mist had a very unexpected, though very welcome effect: my muscle tension was noticeably reduced! I sprayed it on other areas of my body that had muscle tension, and my muscles became more relaxed. I used a lot of the Body Mist last week and I love it. I will be purchasing more after this bottle runs out.

The Light the Way 2009 Earth Month Candle, 30th Anniversary Edition not only supports a good cause, but it has EcoCert organic ingredients including lavender, lavandin and clary sage. I used this candle in my office, and it imparted a heavenly scent, relaxing and soothing. The scent was not heavy or cloying at all, and in combination with the Body Mist, helped reduce my work stress considerably. I think Indian Ayurvedic medicine is really onto somthing here!

I love Aveda products in general, and would not have thought to try the Balancing Body Mist, but I would recommend this product wholeheartedly to anyone who suffers from stress and muscle tension. The Light the Way candle supports a good cause, and imparts a soothing, gentle fragrance that calms and comforts.

Cheryl tested this scrub for two weeks.

High quality, trendy, tongue-in-cheek packaging. On appearance alone the scrub would definately stand out on the shelf from similar products. The tube is great to handle and use, and its very easy to control the amount to be dispensed. Although it recommends a pea sized amount, I found it needed a little more – about the size of a five pence piece – to apply all over face and neck area. The scub is very easy to apply to damp skin; it didn’t immediately sink in but sat nicely on the skin without sliding around uncontrollably. Its got a great menthol smell ad feels slightly cold on application. Instructions are given as to the amount of use per week, depending on skin type. I used it roughly once every three days, whilst in the shower or at the sink. It gives a great refereshing feeling whilst using, the harder you press the more you can feel the ‘scrub’ effect, so you can easily choose the pressure which suits you. The spherical beads, whilst extremely effective, are not too gritty like some scrubs and consequently are extremely easy to rinse off without leaving an annoying residue. Once rinsed off my skin felt silky soft, and looked bright and glowing. The scrub is a perfect base for moisturiser and eye cream to be applied afterwards as recommended – it just sinks into the skin! I found the scrub gives a long lasting softness with regular use. Also, whilst the price is in the mid range for these products, a little does go a long way, so a great investment and addition to your beauty regime. I give it 9/10! 7.82 pounds.
