[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] If you asked me if there was any way in hell I’d pay £65 for a body scrub I’d scream no so loud that the trees would bend. BUT. Here we are and I’m saying, in the right circumstances, yes I would, specifically for this one.
I like a body scrub, especially one with additional AHAs so that you get a double tackle on bumpy skin (I love Ameliorate’s body scrub – currently out of stock – watch this space) that makes a world of difference compared to rolling sugar in oil over your skin. I’m a big fan of Fresh Sugar Scrub but it’s a different thing entirely to this one which comes into its own just when the weather turns hot and you realise that you would like your skin to be smooth and gleaming and wish you’d taken the matter in hand weeks ago.
This scrub is your fast track. The texture is odd – a bit like the perfect sponge mix before it goes in the oven – with sandy bits. Loose but not runny, the feel is whippy and a bit soapy with the micro-crystals finely ground but with enough resistance that you know they’re doing the job. Fruit enzymes chomp up roughness and Vitamin C (over a period of time) should give some brightening. I use it on damp skin and leave it on for a few minutes or so before stepping into the bath or shower. It’s possible, I have to admit, that because I’m aware of how expensive it is I am paying more attention to rubbing it in carefully (rather than just a haphazard slosh on shins and upper arms) but the effort you put in to application will pay off. I mean, I actually sat on my bathroom floor and worked it around my skin for a few minutes before rinsing it off. You can use any old body lotion afterwards but do make sure you use something because that’s the icing on the cake. Doctor’s Body Scrub is impressive – definitely (for my budget at least) priced for treats only, I’d use it as I said at the start of the good weather (or pre-holiday) and switch over to something more affordable in the hope that I’d set the scene well enough to keep my skin in good order with maintenance. Have you used the face version? It’s soooo rough I barely use any pressure when massaging it. But it’s working. So, willing to give this a try, thanks for sharing!
I don’t think I have! Thanks for the head’s up!
