[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Rare is the person that can wear yellow tones on their eyelids. This is an interesting shade called Gleam and I honestly can’t tell you if I like it or not. I’ve reviewed several of the Ilia shades and loved them, but this one – not sure!
The doe’s foot applicator is over generous so I find it better to take a brush over the foot to pick up the right amount on there. You genuinely need very little to make impact on the lids. Ilia Liquid Powder Chromatic Eye claims to be crease proof and it certainly does live up to that – it goes on wet and dries to a glimmery finish.
See what I mean about the colour. It’s more yellow than gold and not quite ochre but heading there. However, if you want a wake up for your eyes you certainly get it. It’s definitely not a shade for me, and I must say that the first application was patchy only saved by a second coat which seemed to even things out somewhat. I love the idea of Gleam for deep and very deep tones as a statement eye with a slick of liner and I can see it has brightened my lids no end but it’s not what I’d pick first for myself.
This is how Ilia Liquid Powder Chromatic Eye Tint in Gleam looks on me. Weirdly, it’s not in stock but when checking for a stockist I discovered that Skincity has 30% off making these Tints £19.60 and at that price they’re very good value. Take a look at Dim, Umber and Adobe HERE and don’t forget about the Multi Sticks (high recommend) which are £23.20 instead of £33 HERE.

Yep, interesting color… I remember similar one in Shiseido trio shadows “Theater” (if I remember name correctly) – there was really stunning ice-blue, dark khaki-bronze and this nearly-ocher-yellow. Together they worked surprisingly well (or it seemed to me so by then 😉 ). Still, my heart is given fully to Lisa Eldridge with hers shadows of this type – I love more shimmer…
Actually, I think I remember that one too 🙂
