[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Finally, I’ve got to swatching up the other two Brown Obsessions palettes. I honestly love the tortoiseshell cases – I’d like bags and sunglasses in both, please! I remember thinking tortoise shell was horribly old fashioned when I came across it on some brushes my grandmother had (probably real, which makes me shudder now) but have come to appreciate it, especially on glasses and sunglasses.
I don’t know if the mood for palettes has come back – I know that make up in general is seeing a long awaited uptick – but these feel tempting in the same way that summer clothes feel tempting. You know it’s too soon but can’t resist.
Caramel (left) features sunset shades which truly do bring life to the lids (particularly for blue eyes) and I’d be happy to dig into the orange and copper tones (but not yet!). There are four mattes and four metallic based shades with and without added sparkle. Toffee veers towards a more yellow toned vibe – I’m not sure any of it is for me but a bitter chocolate smoulder never went amiss, did it? The gold shade is a brightening gilt – not too yellow but immediately glamorous.
So, for versatility, I’d pick Caramel in the hopes that I would feel sunshine might bring out the desire for coppery, orange tones and for adventure, I’d choose Toffee. They’re both £27 each HERE, non affiliate HERE.
Toffee Brown Obsessions: A silky smooth blend of caramel, buttercream and golden toffee mattes paired with shimmering honey and sugared almond metallics. Capture that golden hour warmth around the clock with this seductive palette.
– Caramel Brown Obsessions: Add a little fire to your look with this spicy combination of burnt caramel, hazelnut and maple mattes accompanied by molten copper apricot and rhubarb shimmers.

Oh noo I just can’t wear browns / coppers. I sooo wish there were some cooler toned palettes around. The almost mustard yellow and bright orange are very fun! Remind me of an 80s Miners’ palette which had these shades in matte along with bright green, aqua and another deeper blue. Yes I wore the lot in one go, fabulous.. umm! Hope you are keeping well Jane xx
Yes, I’m well thank you Chrissie! You know, I thought of Mary Quant with the yellow one 🙂
Ah yes, Mary Quant make up was beautiful indeed. I had an MQ violet / mauve mascara and remember a very very good look with it. I am sooo looking forward to putting my face on and not just for work too. If only the weather would warm up ever so slightly 🙂
yes please to warmer weather!
