[unpaid/sample] I have two palettes to show you from Lisa Eldridge’s new eye shadow palette collection and need to flag the Vega is sold out currently. But, there will be more and there are other options still available.
I’ve used all the colours from Vega trying out different looks (coming up) but the colour I’m fixated by is the middle top row, Smoke & Mirrors. It’s a deep grey that actually looks a little lighter in reality both in the palette and on the skin – I’m not even sure it suits me but this is a shade that doesn’t seem to appear in palettes very often and it’s absolutely lush. The palettes are a mix of matte, velvet (semi matte), metallic and luminous and the mix differs from palette to palette.
From bottom to top: French Grey, Smoke & Mirrors, Moonswirl, Turbulence, Supernova and Lamp Black. Smoke, Turbulence and Lamp are matte, Supernova is luminous, French Grey is velvet and Moonswirl is metallic.
So, two different eye looks on one face! On the left, I’ve put Turbulence all over the lid and done a wash of Moonswirl over the top – Turbulence has enough depth to take a shimmering topper and yet is more pulled back in tone than I was expecting – and under my eyes I have a smudgy line of Lamp Black. I’ve used a brown kohl on my inner rims (VB HERE).On the right, I’ve used Smoke & Mirrors with a wash of Supernova and a bit more of Lamp Black underneath. I’m using a black kohl (VB HERE) on my inner lids and Chanel Mascara on both (HERE – I love it – it’s rich and lush). On my lips is Beauty by Lisa Eldridge (gloss). I have all my fingers crossed that Lisa is working on kohls – the new breed of luxury, ultra-soft kohl is just waiting to go stellar.
This is Myth. I haven’t tried this yet other than swatching – I don’t know if I’m ready for purple but I will give it a go on Instagram if not here. The top row has some similar shades to Vega and the colours are so deep they’re almost tactile – there’s a bit of me that wants to run my fingers over the colours just to get a physical feel of the colours. I used a brush for the swatches but when I’m fully done with photography, I’m going in – they’re colours that need to be touched.
See what I mean – if you were presented these shades as fabric you wouldn’t be able to keep your fingers to yourself! Bottom to top: Nocturna (velvet, a plum black – kohl please!), Illusionism (top coat), Mauve Decade (velvet), Faded Amethyst (metallic), Victorian Trim (velvet) and Violet Stone (velvet). It’s still in stock HERE for £49. The other palettes are Cinnibar (browns and bronze) and Muse (rose gold inspired). Lisa’s palettes are as inspired as you’d expect them to be – she does so much research into shades that there are a lot of nuanced colours, the same of which you won’t find elsewhere, and everything from the hand feel of the palette case to the colour co-ordination is perfect. I did get a little drop with some of the shades – tap your brush before applying if you have taken a lot onto your brush.

I was completely seduced by Myth when I saw Lisa’s demo of it…and immediately ordered it. I can’t say I look anything like Lisa (that woman just suits EVERY colour combination!!) wearing them but I love playing with it!! Oh and talking of Khol, and I’m sure again it was a review of yours but when VBeckham had 20% off and free shipping I’ve ordered one of hers to try…almost hoping I don’t love it!! #expensivehabit
I’ll soon have to order a top up of Cocoa I think – I missed the 20% off, damn it!
I love how these look and I also love anything that Lisa does. Haven’t bought any yet because of budget, also because as great the palletes look I can’t pick one that I’d know I would use all 6 shades. But that’s more something personal to me, as lately I apply a lot less make up than I used to. She talked about being able to swap colours and refill the pallete so I’d love to build my own.
Yes, I think there might be a customisable version – I didn’t see it when I looked but maybe it’s on its way.
I’ve been experimenting with Vega the past few days and it’s made me fall back in love with palettes – all the shades are so easy to blend, it’s a pleasure not a chore, and there’s so little drop (if any). It looks gorgeous on you; we’ve got similar colouring so I can’t wait to see you in Myth … I’ve managed to resist it so far, but only just!
That’s so lovely to hear – palettes haven’t been in my interest zone either for quite some time but I know exactly what you mean.
Thanks for posting your review (and your videos on the ‘gram). I love both your Vega looks here.
I bought the Sorcery palette (I see that it no longer appears on LE’s web site?). So far I have swatched them all and worn one of the shades, the green metallic Grotto. I think it is beautiful. What I like most is the variety of colors in the glittery bits; to me this detail shows the care and expertise that went into these products. I also bought an individual shade, the deep Violet Stone from your Myth palette, because I have been looking for a dark purple matte shadow for ages. I look forward to combining it with the peacock blues from Sorcery.
Although LE is not (yet) selling empty palette cases, I found that the refills sit nicely in other magnetic makeup cases, like a very old one from Mary Kay that I have. So you could build your own custom palette quite easily. My only quibble is that the shadow pans do not have the shade name stamped on them (even Mary Kay does that). I think a label would be helpful when you want to mix and match, and when it comes time to re order a shadow.
Thanks Arpita – this is really useful – I love the sound of the looks you’re making x
I bought Vega the very minute these launched on Lisa’s site! It is beautiful and the quality is outstanding, so much so that last night I ordered the Cinnabar palette, can’t wait to receive it (plus a lipstick or 2 and lipliner or 2 that may have fallen into my cart …) .
I really hope Lisa will launch eyeliner pencils like the VB ones, it seems it would be a logical progression. Whilst I like the VB ones I resent the postage and packing charges and the slow delivery times offered on her site – £15 for 1-2 day delivery is taking the mickey, it should be guaranteed next day for that price! I just wish Cult Beauty still stocked those pencils.
Wow – I don’t think I paid postage when I last ordered – that it madly expensive. Net-a-Porter don’t stock them either any more (if they ever did). Have a look at Hildun Beauty – same quality, fewer shades.
Thanks, I will do that.
The undertones of that Smoke & Mirrors are really lovely and work so well with the rest of the palette.
£49 is also less than I was expecting somehow, especially when the mattes look that rich!
I initially read $60 instead of £ and totally accepted it was £60!
My husband is giving me Vega for Christmas. It’s right up my street as I love a cool toned palette. That Beauty lip gloss that you have on in the pic looks lovely with it. Emma x
Oh I’m so pleased for you! You won’t be disappointed 🙂
