[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Hope everyone had a good bank holiday – I think we need one every month from now til the end of time. I took some beauty pictures for this week, edited them, pottered about in the garden, collected some cuttings from a friend, dropped into Tesco to buy a bag of Maltesers and then lay on the sofa watching TV. Perfection. So, I have some gorgeous things to show you this week – starting here with the Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick New Shades for 2023 – some are limited edition and others not. Here we go!
In this line up, from left to right : Bronze, Ruby Shimmer, Smokey Quartz and Porcelain Pearl. They’re all shimmer but please take special note of Porcelain Pearl because it’s my top recommendation. The thing about it is that the off white is shot with gold – not so much that you look glittery, but enough that there’s an extra dimension to the shade. The off-white base is almost translucent so you get a much more awake and vibrant looking eye area without looking like you’re revisiting the 70s. Definitely a summer stunner and a limited edition so don’t wait.
From left to right: Toast (matte), Golden Light, Cosmic Pink and Antique Rose (matte).
From bottom to top: Bronze, Ruby Shimmer (another great shade), Smoky Quartz, Porcelain Pearl, Toast (hate it), Golden Light, Cosmic Pink and Anique Rose. I think what you can note from the swatches is that the colours are not intense – they’re not laying down a power punch of colour – on the whole, they’re light, bright and very wearable without being apologetic. They’re the easiest apply and go colour sticks around.
On the left I’m wearing Ruby Shimmer which is a bronzy-pink slightly shade shifting colour which I love – it’s delicious and all you need to do to rev it up is add some kohl. The right is Porcelain Pearl and the brightening effect is obvious. One of the things that I like about the Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Sticks is that they don’t shrink very much on the lid (unless you go matte) and grab your delicate skin while doing so, which gives a crumpled look. How it applies is pretty much how it stays. Anyway, Ruby Shimmer is HERE and Porcelain Pearl is HERE. They’re £28 each and will last you the summer long and beyond. It looks like delivery is free for now.

I like these, but being of bulgy eyelid I do find shimmer a bit much so tend to go matt. The Ruby shimmer is tempting me though!
Ruby shimmer is lovely. Gorgeous.
