[unpaid/sample] If you like your products simple and effective, then Aviela Pure Shea Butter is as pure as it’s possible to get containing just shea oil and shea butter.  How it looks and how it feels are two different things I think – my expectation on sight would be that it’s stiff and hard to work into the skin but nothing could be further from that!

Aviela

In terms of hydration, it’s described as a ‘hair to toe’ product – if you have textured hair or dry hair you are probably already familiar with shea as a hair hydrator (I haven’t tried it in my hair because I have neither dry nor textured) and I love the idea that one product will have uses for your entire body. Unrefined shea hasn’t been through any processing so retains all of the mineral and essential fatty acid benefits – Aviela sources ethically from Ghana.

Aviela Pure Shea Butter

Aviela is a small brand with its heart in the right place – the word ‘aviela’ means good or beautiful so it’s a very positive name for a product that is truly natural. I mean, I see a lot of products with the words ‘natural’ randomly thrown around as well as ‘clean’ but this really is – from top to bottom. If you’re looking to downsize your beauty routine, this is a very good place to start (actually, I think it will make a good travelling product if you need to pack very minimally). I will just flag that it has no fragrance so smells exactly as it is supposed to which might be a surprise. It’s a raw smell that’s not unpleasant – it made me think of grass and hay. You can find Aviela HERE and it’s £14 for a 15ml pot.
