[unpaid/sample] Two new products in this intensely fruity-zesty fragrance from Jo Loves – A Fragrance Paintbrush and a sumptuous body creme. Mango isn’t my favourite fragrance – I’m not even sure how much I like the fruit and that’s because there’s some back note that just isn’t very pleasant and it’s hard to put my finger on exactly what it is; maybe something sickly. However, in this mango fragrance version, that note isn’t there because it benefits from the citrus of lime and the pinch of black pepper that gives it some sharp edges rather than all being just a bit too smooth. The fragrance is a bring back from the early days of the Jo Loves brand and this time around it’s being expanded rather than retired.
As well as the Paintbrush, there’s also a new body cream – look at the gloss on that though! This is being saved for the last of the summer when skin is parched and you just need a reminder of holidays and sunny days.
If you haven’t used one of the Jo Loves Paintbrushes to apply your fragrance, it’s really a treat. The fragrance is transformed into a gel texture so it glides over the skin in a smooth and cooling motion with what feels like more control than a spritz. Have you ever tried to do just a little spritz? It’s quite a poor way to control fragrance amount I find. But this way and you can get it just right.
I’m actually using the Thai Lime body wash as a hand cleanser at the moment – it somehow seems the perfect thing when I’m looking onto the garden from my kitchen sink and getting beautiful, heady and golden wafts from my hands. Far preferable than the bathroom where I can only see the building next door and sky! Selfishly, I haven’t put it in the shower for everyone to use and you will be amazed (not!) at how little it gets used by others at the sink! I think Thai Lime is the fragrance if you love a burst of juiciness, adore fruity notes and like something that pings the olfactory nerves into beach mode. The Paintbrush is £40 and the Body Creme is £50. If you know someone with a summer birthday, the Paintbrush falls right into good gifting category (plus you get two free samples)! My heart will always belong to Pomelo from this fragrancer but I feel it’s okay to flirt now and again :-). You can find the new products HERE.
