[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] It’s turning out to be a luxury beauty day today, because next up is my CHANEL Sublimage Serum Foundation Review. I’ll say ahead that it’s really very expensive at £110 which normally would be way beyond what I’d be prepared to spend on a foundation but oh my – 100% the best I’ve ever tried, and I have tried a great many.

If it’s any consolation, it comes with a brush! So, what is so good about it? CHANEL Sublimage Serum Foundation is part skin care, part make-up and feels like a light, dewy moisturiser on the skin.  What’s very striking about it at the get go is that its a perfect ‘skin fit’ so immediately feels right. It contains highly antioxidant Vanilla Planifolia (vanilla orchid) water so there is an almost cool feel at first application and Vanilla oil, which is what gives the formula its comfort feel.

This brand prefers to lead in ingredient technology rather than follow – they have their own labs – and I have always rated their skin care. If you’re going to charge a fortune, the products better be good and they are – with Sublimage you know why you’re paying what you do and that’s not always the case with pricy products. It’s very much worth having a look at this video HERE about how Vanilla Planifolia is produced and used.

The finish is dewy but not oily-looking for a ‘fresh’ skin appearance which is my preference – I do not like matte – and while it does contain light reflecting particles, these work in harmony with the pigments to ensure you’re not suddenly lit up like Blackpool. There’s a smooth look effect as well as a complexion ‘wake up’ – giving an energised appearance because the light catches at all angles. If I won the lottery, this would be my forever foundation.

The swatch is both in and out of light – my shade, B30, is just a fraction too deep for end of February but will be bang on perfect when my tone is just one or two tads warmer (I’m wearing it anyway because I’m using Tan Luxe). It’s hard to describe the illumination effect because it’s not shimmery or iridescent – just luminous – making my skin light-catchy and awake. I hadn’t wanted to like this as much as I do for obvious reasons but it really is just delicious. When stores are open again, do get a swatch or sample to try first unless you are absolutely sure of your Chanel shade, because it’s just too much to make a mistake on. There are 12 shades from lightest to deepest and I found the last pretty good – there was still plenty to take off at the end of the day. So, you can find it HERE, non-affiliate HERE.
