[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Ever since my eyes swelled up like golf balls from using a Perricone product about 15 years ago, I avoid eye creams like the plague and I think you’ll only find three or four eye cream reviews in 13 years on this site! The swelling took the best part of a week to subside and I was really upset about it – it’s given me a life-long aversion to using anything eye creamish and I need to feel really sure before I go for it. I get along well with all CHANEL skin care – I know its CHANEL which I love anyway so am always geared to the positive on it but genuinely, nothing has ever caused an issue.
So, I took the plunge and even after several day’s use have no bad effects. In fact, this is probably the freshest feeling eye cream you’ll come across – those little spheres are micro-encapsulated white camellia oil that burst at the touch (sadly no popping candy feeling!) as you pat the cream around your eye area. The rest is made up of (among other things) algae extracts and tetrapeptides. It’s too soon to say whether it works on dark circles but I’m of the view that nothing much does. However, it does do a mighty hydration job that both looks and feels rather wonderful.
I’m pleased to see that the brand recommends a ‘rice grain’ amount for each eye – it’s so easy for brands to suggest you use more than you need so you have to repurchase more quickly, but I think we can agree it would be hard to apply less than a rice grain! If you love an eye cream, I would easily recommend this for an instant freshener and a hydration veil that lasts to the next day. An easy win for eye product fans. It’s £55 HERE (at Flannels and I’ve linked there because they’re flagging – at the time of writing – 20% off everything with code FF20 but it ends at midnight tonight – Wednesday).

I have just ordered this, along with the Chanel SPF 50. I read your wonderful review and I love Chanel skincare. Cannot wait to try them both.
great, hope you enjoy!
I haven’t applied eye cream in years. I wear contact lenses. But I’ll try this one and see if it works. It looks hydrating.
I used Chanel skincare and makeup back in the late 1980s and 1990s. Only last year did I start loving Chanel again, after I purchased the Mediterranean eye palette, Coco Rouge Baumé and Les Beiges Water Touch at Athens airport duty-free, on discount (end of season). I came away impressed with the quality of their products.
I began using the Chanel La Mousse cleansing foam which is the best and most cost effective. The tube lasted 6 months! You need only a small amount and it cleans effectively without irritating your skin.
Tip for you and your readers: Airport Duty free shops carry Chanel limited edition items. Two weeks ago I saw the travel size Les Beiges Water tint in Athens airport, as well as the Coco Rouge Baume, eyeshadows, etc. and they had all of the shades.
Thanks for the tip – they’re actually releasing the travel sizes soon and I can’t wait!
My favourite eye cream is the Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream. I discovered it when it was recommended after I had some eczema type reaction on my eye. It cleared up the problem. It feels so soothing and I’ve never had a problem with it. Emma x
Good to know – thank you!
