[unpaid/sample] It feels like a long time since I’ve seen a cleanser that’s not an oil, a balm or a micellar and that’s exactly what made me want to try This Is Silk Cream Cleanser straight away. Obviously, it’s not vegan but This Is Silk source their silk for skin care from cocoons that have already hatched rather than – I don’t even want to think about the ‘rather than’. I’m not vegan or even vegetarian but I do mind about the ethics of sourcing although I must admit I have a couple of silk clothing items that I haven’t even considered the sourcing of until this minute. Really, I think you have to draw your own conclusions on silk in skin care.

This Is Silk Cream Cleanser

The cleanser is a truly beautiful texture – think of the thickness of a light balm with the creaminess of a nourishing night cream and that’s about how it adds up. It’s best for drier skin types because it’s hefty on mango seed butter, shea butter and rice bran oil, but it feels very light on the complexion and in use. It’s the sort of texture that makes you want to just keep on massaging and that’s always good for skin as well as key caring ingredients of silk peptides, probiotics and panthenol.

This Is Silk Cream Cleanser

It’s genuinely a great ‘experience’ cleanse – the scent is very light and spa-ish (it contains essential oils), the sensorial aspect is high and it made my skin feel both very clean and very soft. I’m not good enough on ingredient lists to tell just how much of a difference the silk peptides can be making to the formula (they’re low down on the INCI) but it’s certainly one to try if you take care with and enjoy your cleansing routine. It’s £39 HERE.
