[unpaid/sample] So, where shall I start about how annoying sand is. That gorgeous, unspoiled beach looks so tempting when you first arrive but when it comes to leaving – so. much. sand. everywhere. I was sent a very thoughtful kit to demonstrate how well Beach Powder works; a little pot of sand, some SPF50 and a water bottle to spritz the ‘sea’ – it’s not every Tuesday that starts this way but my hand covered in sun cream and sand took me right back to holidays when the children were little.

Beach Powder Review

I actually don’t think I’ve ever received sand through the post before!

Beach Powder is made from plant and mineral powders – no talc in sight. It’s a blend of Zea Mays starch (derived from corn), arrowroot, sodium bicarbonate and kaolin that’s gently scented with vanilla – I think maybe to be more attractive to children who, when slippy and wriggling, definitely need some enticing towards the towel. There’s a sparkly version too – I’m trying to envision that being a nice look for adults as well as kids but just thinking of sea-hair and a wet, clingy costume, I think I’d prefer to slink away discretely, not sparkle my way to the shower.

You just liberally sprinkle your Beach Powder to the area where you want sand to be removed then simply dust away.

So, you can see that it’s made short shift of the sand, with just a tiny bit of sun cream residue (I probably put too much on my hand) but even that isn’t an issue as it’s completely mattified and falls away as you go about your business. It just makes the possibility of ad hoc paddling so much more appealing – I remember that Lucy and Max always wanted to have a quick paddle along the beach on the way to dinner (or back) and Beach Powder would have made that so much easier (wiping sandy feet on my nice dress is a memory I don’t treasure!). But, it’s not just for kids – that sandy bottom feeling isn’t nice for anyone – up to you if you add the (plastic free) glitter to the mix! It’s £9.99 at Victoria Health HERE.
