[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] If you’re a fan of Charlotte’s Magic Cream for the face, I think you’ll very much enjoy the body version which is blended with hyaluronic acid, caffeine and shea.
It’s sumptuous, beautifully hydrating, makes skin feel supple and soft – oh, and smooth as well – and has a beautiful clean/flowery scent that reminded me, for some reason, of Estee Lauder face creams. So, the trickier issue is the claims to reduce the appearance of cellulite by 40% and skin feels 22% firmer and more lifted. I promise, if you’re buy it for those two claims, you will be disappointed. I can’t even think how to measure 22% firmer – would I know it by sight?
I think we’ve grown used to taking the notorious Tilbury claims with a pinch of salt but that doesn’t mean they’re not great products. The Magic Body Cream feels like an absolute treat – I’m not a big fan of applying body lotions but even I liked this one for the expensive smell, the softened skin, the smooth shins and the amplified last. It’s £49 HERE, but there is a smaller version for £20 HERE if you’d just prefer to dip your toe.

I’m interested in trying a body lotion with a bit of oomph (but don’t expect miracles.) What do you think of body products that include retinol?
Funnily enough, I’ve been testing retinol on my legs where I have bumpy skin (KP) and have to say it’s working. I’m using a face retinol (Cerave) because that’s what I have here, so I think, depending upon your requirements, I’d advocate for retinol in body cream. That said, we are coming into summer, it’s not a great time to do it because more of you is exposed and if it’s for just smaller areas, I’d probably just get the cheapest retinol face cream I could find and patch test that. I think I’d prefer to refer you to AHA body cream – Gatineau AHA or Ameliorate. If you decide to go retinol, Paula’s Choice gets the best ratings.
Thank you- as always such a helpful and considered response. I have gone for the most entry level product I could find, the Versed body retinol and first impressions, as a body lotion, are that I really like it. Has squalane so feels juicy. I look forward to seeing if results are noticeable. Thank you again
So welcome – yes good idea – please do let me know how you get on. Retinol body products aren’t yet mainstream and if it’s cheaper to customise your own then I want to write about it. x
Would you say it has the same consistency as the Magic Face Cream?
No, it’s much looser.
