[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I think this is the most expensive mascara I’ve ever reviewed – I didn’t know the price before I tested it and in fact, have only just seen it now looking for stockists. But before I say how much it is, I have to say that I was surprised at just how good it is – it looks somewhat underwhelming and yet the result is very impactful. I can’t say whether I’d have felt the same if I’d known it was £63 before I tested it.
It turns out that it’s a multi-functional mascara dosed with peptides to help improve length, thickness and fullness over a period of two weeks. It’s a strange way the claim is worded – ‘lash growth will have been stimulated by 25% encouraging stronger, longer hairs’ (after two weeks) which doesn’t actually say that results will appear after that amount of time. The formula also contains mineral salts, seaweed extracts and rosewater and aims to regenerate lashes rather than disguise. If it actually does that I can see it being easily habit forming!
The brush is a medium thickness and coats very nicely. The first coat is not as exciting as the second which is where the wow begins – I didn’t need to go beyond that for a full looking lash fringe but by all means take it to the limit if you prefer. It’s beyond my normal defined and spiky preference as my lashes do look much fuller – but I like it! It’s helped by being super-black in colour. As usual, I’ve been caught out by my own assumptions – this arrived with all the butterfly pretties and I just assumed it was an ordinary mascara which it isn’t. Before I took the plunge with hard cash on a second tube, I’d need to see some meaningful results, but so far, so hooked. You can find it HERE, non-affiliate HERE.

Wow, keep us posted in a couple of months, please, would you? Price is scary, but if I think about any lash-growing/improving serum – it’ll be 30-50 pounds easily, take then decent Dior/Guerlain/Whatever mascara for another 20-30 pounds and we’ll get the same math here. Question, of course, is if it works just as good as combo of two products…
I won’t be able to test exclusively as I have other mascaras to test as well… but you’re right about serums which are also really pricy so if it does the same thing…. *gets calculator*…
I received a mini size of this mascara in a Space NK gift with purchase ages ago. I couldn’t believe how good it was and the half size lasted for ages did not dry out a pet hate. But damn when I found out the price of the full size. I waited until Space NK had a spend £60 and get £15 off and also had gathered £10 on my InDulge card before buying.
Didn’t notice any lash grow with it, but it made my lashes look twice as long after applying.
It IS really amazing – but I’m not sure I’d spend £62 on another. I mean, if I won the lottery, I would!
Holy crap! It’s $73!? I’m not a beauty shamer; I think people buy what they like and can afford, but I do get kind of torqued off at companies that charge those amounts. There’s something that seems scandalous about charging that amount of money.
Thank you for the review. It’s way too spendy for me, but it sounds like nice mascara.
It IS a nice mascara – but I hear you!
I buy the Chantecaille Faux Cils Mascara which is the cheaper version (without the serum, I think). I use the RevitaLash serum, but it is eye wateringly expensive and I won’t be buying it again, now that it has gone from QVC. I really like the Faux Cils Mascara, and get it when there is an offer on at Space NK. It doesn’t dry out (its most unique feature, I think), with two coats my lashes look really good, and I like the faint rose smell. However the price has crept-up to £40 so I am not sure I will buy it again. There are good mascaras on the market at £10 (or less) and as much as I like Faux Cils, the price is obscene.

Yes I spotted the faux cils – I think if you have the lashes you want there is no need at all to go for formulas with extras when there are, as you say, plenty of options.
