[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] This is so what I needed to see on a rainy January morning – the Paul & Joe spring collection. I’ve got everything so will roll out by category next week, but I’m starting with the Gel Blushes because it’s a product that this brand excels at.
Texturally, these could not be more pleasing. They feel cool to the touch because of the high water content – 80% I believe – which also allows for the translucency and ‘second skin’ finish.
I’d be reluctant to throw away the pot after the blush was finished – I’m sure I’d have to find another use for it! This type of blush is so easy to use – always go lightly at first because it’s easily buildable if you need a bit more flush. They’re perfect for the current trend of natural and bare skin because as soon as it’s on your skin it looks and feels like it’s meant to be there.

The finish on the top of the blushes makes them look like they’re going to be powder because it’s slightly textured from the presser (technical term!). The first one is Cerise (not yet in stock but by some miracle, the other two are), the second is Lumiere Douce which is an absolute godsend for anyone with a very pale complexion because it gives the barest of pink touches without looking too much, and Bavarder, which is described as a berry pink but to my eye has more of a coral tone.
So, you can see by the swatches that it gives a ‘fog’ effect – a kind of blurry colour veil that is instantly at home on the face. They’re £19 each HERE, non-affiliate HERE.

These sound lovely, but I always find I wipe off my foundation with gel or cream blushes – any tips please Jane?
Have you tried using a big fluffy brush? You only have to whisper it over the top of the blush to pick up and then use a very light handed buffing motion to get it diffused. It sounds like maybe you’re going in a bit too hard. The other thing you can do is tap your middle finger onto the surface of the blush to pick up some colour then pat the finger over your cheeks in a tapping motion to distribute. I think being gentle will help x
