[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad/priorad] My favourite new fragrance from The Body Shop is easily Full Rose. It’s a juicy and lightly fruity rose (although there is no fruit listed but that’s what my nose is telling me!) with the soft greenery of geranium leaf and a dash of cardamom. The bottles are gorgeous – definitely defying my expectations of a Body Shop fragrance – you can return your empties to any Body Shop and they’ll recycle every part including the all natural cap.

I really though that Full Orange Blossom would be an easy shoe-in as my favourite but there’s just something missing from it that I can’t quite put my finger on. I think perhaps that the Jo Malone Orange Blossom has just never been bettered and when that classic is your benchmark, it’s going to take a miracle to beat it.

I think perhaps the citrus notes in it are just a bit harsh – not as clean and bright as I’d like. Full Orange Blossom is a blend of orange blossom, neroli, bergamot and vetiver – it’s extremely joyful and a sunshine fragrance for those days when the outside is just so warm and enlivening you feel pressed to somehow enhance it further.

I am never going to be a fan of iris – it’s just not for me and never will be although I can appreciate how smoothly the flower has been represented in Full Iris. Juniper berries, black pepper and vanilla join Iris in this smoky arrangement. Because The Body Shop are a responsible brand, the ingredients are sourced responsibly and ethically – rose from family fields in Grasse, Full Iris contains upcycled iris through a second distillation of rhizomes left over from the first extraction (apparently, it gives iris a more powdery aspect) and orange blossom from the Nile region where flowers are gathered in the traditional method of shaking them from the trees. That’s a new nugget of information that I never know about orange blossoms. The fourth fragrance, Full Ylang Ylang, a spicy white floral, is produced by Madagascan communities who make the essential oil necessary for the scent.

The fragrances are £39 each which feels reasonable for the both the intensity and last HERE.
