[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Sometimes I get asked by people who wear little to no make up where to start, and that’s a very good question. I’m a life long make up wearer (it wouldn’t surprise me if I was born wearing a dot of Rouge Noir) so know my way around almost every single iteration but if you’ve always been a bit baffled by the world of colour, it’s quite difficult to suddenly dip in. I think I know where I’ll be pointing them from now on – towards Ilia, which, the more I see, the more I like.
I’ll start going left to right with the two Liquid Powder Chromatic Eye Tints in Sheen and Fresco. These could not be easier to apply – Fresco is a metal-shot milky coffee colour while Sheen is a richly pigmented old gold and either can be used at whatever intensity is comfortable for you. The ‘liquid powder’ description doesn’t really do the product justice because it made me envisage a slightly dry looking lid but not a bit of it! It’s lustrous, long lasting and gentle. It’s so artfully understated in making you look ‘done’ in literally the swipe of an effortless brush. The Lip Wrap Reviving Balm isn’t the first thing I’d reach for from the Ilia collection but it’s a lovely balm, leaving a sheen that’s lightly glossy. I say that’s not what I’d reach for first because once you’ve tried their Balmy Gloss Tinted Oil, you will never look back! I’ve got shade Linger, a soft, milky pink with a bit of body that feels so luscious on the lips that topping up will be a treat, not a chore. Can you tell I am smitten?!
I say that’s not what I’d reach for first because once you’ve tried their Balmy Gloss Tinted Oil, you will never look back! I’ve got shade Linger, a soft, milky pink with a bit of body and a very slight heathery hint that feels so luscious on the lips that topping up will be a treat, not a chore. Can you tell I am smitten?!
Next up, the Multi-Stick, which I’ve reviewed before but I have a few more shades to show you. Multi-Sticks include shea butter, avocado oil and orange peel wax in their formula to give them a skin caring edge over other similar do-it-all sticks. You can use these anywhere you like – I wouldn’t think twice about putting them to my eyelids or even mixing up with some gloss to get a shimmer effect on my lips. The first shade is Dreamer, a pink shade with undertones of brick.
The front shade is Stella By Starlight, a light rose gold sheen, and to the back is In The City, a warm golden bronze.
In the swatch from bottom to top: Fresco and Sheen (£27 HERE), Linger (£24 HERE), Dreamer, Stella By Starlight and In The City (£33 each HERE and in a range of colours). If it’s down to only one product, it would have to be the Multi-Stick. In the main photo, I’m wearing Dreamer on my cheeks, Linger on my lips and Fresco on my lids.

Hi, please can you let me know how I can unsubscribe from your push notifications? I have a very old computer and its one too many things for it to handle. Thank you very much
Yes, quite understand. This crops up quite a lot for MAC users and I’m not sure why since I don’t have a MAC – so I’ll assume you have mac and the instructions are below:
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Notifications in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.) Go to Application Notifications on the right, click the website, then turn off Allow Notifications.
You look lovely, Jane! Fresh and soft and bright, simply lovely! Lip products like these seduce me every time… These shadows sound (and look) to me pretty much like Lisa Eldridge’s Liquid Metals (I have three and can say that they indeed nearly blend themselves and even brush I don’t need – fingertips do the best), so may be you can compare them one day?
Yes, actually I have some of Lisa’s metals and can say that Ilia are far less shimmery – they’re almost a matte metallic so better for a less is more than a starry eye. I love both for different reasons – Lisa’s for full on glam, Ilia for understated glam.
Wait until you try the spf foundation and new tinted spf primer…..perfect.
ooh they sound tempting!
