[unpaid/sample] It’s definitely that time of year when your dye starts to fade or go through a myriad of changes as the sun starts to make its effects known. My natural (boring) brown shade goes so much lighter in the sun – other than my little red streak, I haven’t put dye in it for a few months, not least because my poor hair has really been through the covid wringer and now that the loss has slowed right down to something approaching normal, and there are sparks of regrowth, I’m still keen to keep a very low maintenance routine.

Invigo Sun is a good thing to have at hand on days where you know you’re going to be sun hit and don’t want that expensive ombre ruining! In use, it’s lightweight, non-sticky and unobtrusive in texture. It’s got a pleasant, clean and breezy scent that’s a little bit holiday-ish. As well as UV filters, the formula contains panthenol – I’ve only used it a couple of times but found it quite moisturising without any oiliness. Natural bleaching doesn’t really bother me – I was kind of happy over lockdown to take a break from cutting and dyeing and letting my natural greys come through but I’d use this perhaps more for keeping condition because my hair can start to look a bit frazzled. I think it’s a good buy for holidays or over the summer where you want to keep your colour pristine but don’t want to be stuck in a hat for three months.
