[unpaid/sample] It’s a new formula for Mavala that doesn’t (at surface testing) appear to have affected the performance of the polish or the texture. The brand has included silica which can help to strengthen the nails. I’m currently dealing with two snapped nails so this is music to my ears.
I feel like the new colours for autumn/winter are more Scandi than anything – it’s very landscapey and makes me think of moody skies and bits of earth peeking out under a covering of snow. In honesty I am not drawn to any of the colours this time around, except perhaps Detroit, which is grey with a shot of teal. It’s supposed to be a colour palette of earthy tones and it’s fitting that brief very well especially when you consider it takes in countries across the world but to me, it’s just a bit too earthy, particularly Manaus which is a red-brown that’s very brickish and more brown than red. Inverness has a light pearl finish to it and the shade is a steely grey, while Muscat is a sandy neutral in the bottle but once layered goes a much deeper creamy brown. Rangoon is a shimmering ginger and Salamanca is cream shade.
Shades on the wheel from left to right are: Muscat, Manaus Detroit, Inverness, Salamanca and Rangoon. They’re £4.96 each HERE.

Oh, nooooo!… Such a depressive collection! Sorry. Well, perhaps I just don’t have a single Scandi bone in me. 🙂 Strengthening polish on the other hand… Dilemma…
haha… I think they’ll bring out more colours in the silicum range… patience is all 🙂
Perfect for a grungy mood, I was a 90s teen/young adult lol! Is there one shade missing from the names you’ve listed on the wheel? I see 6 on the wheel and 5 listed xx
Yes, you’re right actually – there’s another collection on its way that is more up my street.
I like the Inverness shade but that might be the name not just the shade that’s appealing to my Scottish ancestry
I really rate Mavala polishes & like the early 60’s aesthetic of the bottles.
I like them too – you can actually finish a bottle!
