[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] If you’re in the mood for some very fancy cleanser, you’d do well to look at the Sensai Absolute Silk Micro Mousse Wash because it is beautiful. One of the frustrating things about Sensai is that for markets where it’s perhaps less well known, you can’t really tell anything about it from the packaging – not its roots or heritage and I think that’s a disadvantage when it comes to recruiting new customers. It’s unobtrusive and elegant – purposefully simplistic – but that’s where we stop – I understand the discrete lines and waves are references to Zen (found in Japanese gardens) but you’d have to know that in the first place.
Micro mousses are relatively new – a formulation upgrade from your regular mousse to give less flump and more velvet and its simply one of the most texturally satisfying ways to cleanse. Sensai is very much about the ritual – doing the right things in the right order, and of course, if you want to be extra cleansed, you’d use the mousse after the cleansing lotion (equally lovely, and infused with squalane and perilla leaf which belongs to the mint family).
I’m sharing this image as a behind the scenes – I asked Mr BBB to gently press the top so I could get just a puff of mousse to illustrate. We have different ideas of gentle, I have discovered ;-)). But it gives you a perfect illustration of this gorgeously glossy and creamy mousse.
Sensai Absolute Silk Cleansing Milk is next on my ‘sofa cleanse’ list as I have almost finished my lovely Dior micellar – days when you just can’t be bothered to go through the whole cleansing process at the sink a sofa cleanse is the way to go. Just sit, watch TV, cleanse with a lotion or a micellar. Easy, and I can’t say my skin has suffered at all for it. So, of course these are in the luxury price range – the Mousse is £75 HERE and the Milk is £70 HERE. Both products use hydrolized silk so aren’t vegan. It is considered cruelty free because it utilises cocoons that the silk worms have already left behind. I’m linking to Harrods because they’ve got a very good offer for a beauty gift worth £480 (Sturm, Creme de la Mer, La Prairie etc) with a £250 spend HERE. If you have a load of summer birthdays to buy, it could be worthwhile. You do need to sign up to feed their mailing list but you can always relocate to junk if you get anything unwanted.

Oh, this is a brand I had totally forgotten about. They used to be in my local Debenhams way back then, pulled out and only available in Harrods. I remember it was a lovely brand.
yes, there’s limited availability in the UK 🙁
Sensai has become my favourite brand and I wish they would make more song and dance about themselves in the UK. Jane, not new but have you tried their wrinkle repair range? It transformed my skin. X
I haven’t tried it – but thanks for the recommendation x
Sensai cleansers are the bomb! Love their Silky Purifying Cleansing Balm – so indulgent!
so true.
I worked for Kanebo, several years ago and I still rate it as one of the best cosmetics on the market. I still use their cleansing oil to remove my makeup
Yes, it’s a beautiful brand.
