[unpaid/affiliate/ad] * This post was originally posted on Friday but I received a notification that 15% off started on (full price items) Monday using code TREAT15, so I removed it until today. It doesn’t take long for a new Fitflop itch to come along – even though I know it’s too chilly for me at least to get my toes out just yet, despite all this beautiful sunshine, I’m definitely in a colourful mood at the moment, so the coral pink Lulus have caught my eye. I’m also looking at a yellow pair of toe post Remis but despite being ‘new in’, they’re sold out in almost all sizes. As if this wasn’t enough of a shopping list, the Fitflop sliders are in stock (summer slippers, basically) and given that I borrow Lucy’s sliders to go in and out of the garden with, and she is getting exasperated that they’re often not in the place she left them (oops), I had probably better get a pair of my own.
Coral is a bit of a wonder shade I think – it’s so bright and cheery but doesn’t take other colours over and it sits well with any neutral colours you’re wearing. So these will be as at home with your jeans as they will with white linen wide legs or almost any flower print dress. I’d happily wear just about any shade nail polish with this colour, too – turquoise blue would be wonderful, as would yellow or red. I favour a tropical orange on my toes in summer so that’s an easy fit too.
If too much coral is – well, too much – there’s an option of black with a coral trim. I’ve got some black silk wide leg trousers that I’m hoping All Saints bring out again because they’re on their last legs and I’d love another pair which would be the perfect match.
The final option is the tan pair that I can’t quite make up my mind about. Absolutely gorgeous with bronzed legs in shorts or jeans but after that I’m struggling – white, maybe? Either way, they’ve all got that kind of effortless ‘abroad’ look that only shoes in sunshine can have. We have tentative weekends booked away in September with friends and one of my first thoughts was that I can visit a favourite shoe shop there. As you know, I love my Fitflops (currently wearing Fitflop trainers) for giving just enough of a rise in the heel that I don’t feel stompy and flat-footed, a little bit of leg elongation (great for someone 5ft 3!) and for being comfortable enough to wear from morning til night. They’re £70 HERE.
The Sliders are £28 HERE and come in red, white, black and navy. They’re called sliders – or usually, actually, pool sliders – because they’re perfect for slipping your sandy, oily or wet feet into but it’s amazing how easily they become the aforementioned summer slippers – mine (or Lucy’s I should say) are often just by the sofa so I don’t get cold feet when I walk into the kitchen. Couldn’t be further away from a pool but somehow they’re on my feet a lot :-).

Lovely summer collection they have! My favs are black with coral trim… As for tan ones.. I am VERY conservative sometimes about outfits – so truly believe in matching (not completely as in one brand match but color) shoes and bags (or belts) and in this case I’d just pick something else (even watch strap) with tan leather to “support” the fitflops and what’s colors of the rest is irrelevant 🙂 Being the same length as you I also appreciate “extra lift from the ground” that proper platform provides…
It’s funny how we react to colour – they just didn’t sing to me the way the coral ones do (and I’ve now bought!).
Yep, all these little triggers… Show me anything black – and I’m biting. 🙂 Enjoy your corals!
Bad Jane! You’ve just made me spend more money on yet another pair of sandals that I don’t need! The coral ones are so pretty though…
I don’t need any more either – I can’t help myself!!
