[unpaid/sample] We are very definitely in the land of luxury here with Guerlain’s new hand soaps, but oh my, these are very tempting. I should first say that each one is housed in a glass bottle so afterwards you could fill it with anything you like (although Guerlain refills will be available any time from now).
There are three fragrance options – Rose Cherie, Herbes Troublants and Nerolie Outrenoir. I’ve just Googled ‘troublant’ because I doubted my French there for a moment, but it does indeed mean troubling or disturbing. I looked at the reviews for the same named fragrance and it turns out to be a marmite scent. You either love it or you hate it. But, usefully, I did glean that it was already a soapy smelling scent before it was even a soap so the notes in that genre I’m picking up aren’t all down to it being a liquid, er, soap.
To me, Herbes Troublantes has a cologne aspect in that it’s sharp and fresh and just very clean smelling so you would never object to finding this in the guest loo. Personally, I’m to mean to save it for guests (unlike my Grandma who saved all her Bronnley lemons for guests and used a very basic soap for herself…) and I want it all for myself. If you put this on your Christmas list make sure that everyone knows it’s for your own personal use. My parental love has been sorely tested by my children announcing how lovely the Jo Malone hand wash is… Anyway, please note the lovely bee on the glass, the emblem of Guerlain. The bottles are extra fancy though – manufactured by Pochet du Courval, glassmaker to Guerlain since 1853. It’s 300ml and you can find it HERE.

I love the sound of this scent and the others in the range, but I’m currently eyeing up Lisa Eldridge’s new palettes and colours (all of which look amazing) as treat purchases. At £70 this is certainly a treat, but I bet it’s absolutely terrific and I’d probably use it in the shower too, so therefore it’s not trop cher 😉 x
I’m eyeing those up too! Hoping to get samples so I can swatch them for everyone… 🙂
I’m all for a bit of luxury – but THEY’RE £70!! FOR HANDWASH!! Crikey…
I know – terrifying!
I find that price … troublant!!
oui!
