[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] The first AHA infused body cream I ever used was Gatineau and it was a complete revelation – that enzymatic exfoliation makes so much difference to skin softening and I’d never experienced anything quite like it. In fact, over a decade later I’m still going on about it! So AHA infused body creams are great for pre-holiday or summer legs (use SPF because your skin is more ‘raw’ from any exfoliation) or any time you want your body skin to look fresher and more silky. Sol de Jeneiro’s version, Bom Dia Bright Cream, is a wonderful buy but because it’s more expensive than many (because there are lots now) I’d keep it for exposed areas only!
I’ve just done a test for sponsored content for (now) three weeks on (non AHA) body products so my skin is nicely hydrated as things stand, but the difference with Bom Dia is that it is a little bit thicker and more emollient than many I’ve seen so does feel more premium in the market.
It doesn’t have the same scent as other Sol products – this is very light and gently floral. It’s hard to say whether the addition of Vitamin C truly ‘brightens’ because personally I think it’s the fruit acids doing the heavy lifting here but the base, using Cupuaçu (similar to shea) is nourishing on its own. The other advantage of using an AHA body product is help keep ingrown hairs at bay if that is something that you need to address.
Bom Dia Bright Cream is £44 for the 240ml and £18 for the 75ml but there are offers everywhere as Black Friday starts early and brands start to compete for sales. So from now until about February, shop around! FeelUnique HERE has it for £37.30 which is the best deal I can find. While I’m on newness from Sol de Janeiro, there is also the Dry Shampoo which is in the original Joia scent – gourmand and a bit tropical. It worked very well on me to take off the ‘needs washing’ look over the weekend but you really have to like the fragrance. I do quite like it in small doses and dry shampoo seems a good way to get a caramel blast that doesn’t stay too long. It’s not on offer anywhere (yet) so it’s £24 at FeelUnique.
