[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I can see that Estee Lauder Companies are on a roll with this ‘skin care for make up’ theme following on from MAC’s Serumizer (absolutely lovely). For the new Bobbi Brown Radiance Serum Mist, they’ve thrown in a bit of Origins-esq fungus to make a glow-giving, foundation saving misty topper.
The key ingredients are cordyceps and glycerin. I hadn’t heard of cordyceps but then, I’m not a caterpillar from the Chinese mountains which is what you’ll find it growing on. If that’s got you running from the hills, don’t worry, its lab made – no caterpillars were gently brushed for this. What cordyceps can offer is anti-oxidant protection and from testing, the thing I like it for best is glow refreshing which it does beautifully.
I used it over Serum Foundation – I’d forgotten how lovely this base is – exceptionally light feeling on the skin (especially for an SPF40) and a seamless blend. The mist is almost like a comfort mist – I feel like I get moisture as well as soothing from it. If you’re prone to losing your base by the end of the day and especially if you are dry, the glycerine will kick into action and give you a moisture hit and in theory, encourage your base to stay put. I’m not sure how well Bobbi Brown Radiance Serum Mist would work for oily skin related base disappearance especially as you get a boosted skin sheen from it which oily types might not want. I notice that Ectoin is on the ingredient (as is squalane) list – I think we’re going to see that ingredient popping up in products a great deal more. So, bottom line is, Bobbi Brown Radiance Serum Mist is a lovely product for dew boosting on the go – one spritz doesn’t give you all day dew, you need to top it up now and then. For holding base, I currently have neither very dry or oily skin but must admit there was a more than usual amount of make up to take off at end of play which indicates that it’s doing its job to a certain degree. I like this for natural skin actually – just a burst of succulence on bare skin is gorgeous. The Serum is £39.50 HERE.

This sounds promising, given I have pretty dry skin and always look dull by mid day.
I’m no stranger to Cordyceps, having taken Chinese medicine since I was a kid, and I’m pretty sure this is in a lot of vitamin blends and skincare already. That being said, I’ve never googled pictures before, and I must say it looks rather scary. LOL!
Your skin sounds exactly right for this then – it does give a dewy aspect to the skin. I know – I haven’t looked further 🙂
