[unpaid/samples] I’m always happy to see Mavala polishes – especially shades that are so right for an autumn mood. Named for cities around the world (and so glad to see the small Japanese city Nikko mentioned rather than Tokyo as per) you can go bright, sludgy or vibrant. Also, it’s a bit of a geography lesson – I had to Google Tadoussac (it’s a village in Canada known for whale watching – so I forgive myself for not knowing because it is a little, er, obscure!). And yes, I have spotted that random comma in the main picture that’s a little unsure of where it is supposed to live..
I’m always drawn to reds and oranges for toes but like a bit of a down-tone for fingers – Edinburgh is a khaki green (looking a bit more brown in the picture than it actually is), Tadoussac is a pillar box red and Saltzburg a hot, fiery orange. Edinburgh reminds me of a past Chanel shade but I can’t quite bring the name to mind.
New Orleans is a berryish purple, Bruges a chocolate brown and Nikko a fuchsia pink – I think I would honestly wear any and all of these shades and at £5.20 each, have a nice autumn nail wardrobe. I love the size of them – what colour you fancy on your nails is as moveable as what you fancy for dinner on any particular day .. unpredictable, I find! So, an affordable shade selection hits the spot.
So, here we are: Tadoussac, Edinburgh, Salzburg, New Orleans, Bruges and Nikko. It’s testament to the depth of pigment that the picture is taken with the light behind the wheel which would show up any discrepancies. A pretty good show, I think. You can find them HERE.

Oh fantastic, I’ve wanted a real brown for ages, and I like this brand a lot, apostrophe catastrophe notwithstanding!
Bruges looks just the job, and fittingly as it’s a beloved location. Edinburgh’s attracting me too, and they’re so affordable it’s nice to be able to buy shades you’re only 95% confident about.
Terrific timing, as mooching around looking for a particular shade is not on, with the return of restrictions. Thank you!
So welcome – yes, I’m drawn to Edinburgh too 🙂
These are lovely classic winter colours. But wrongly placed apostrophes make my eyes twitch, haha!
Amazing nobody spotted it – it must have been past quite a few pairs of eyes!
These colours are gorgeous. So right for this time of year. I notice their website spells Charming without the R!
oh lord!!
