[unpaid/ad/affiliate/sample] Ah, so while I wasn’t paying attention, one of my all time favourite Elemis products has disappeared – Tri-Enzyme Resurfacing Gel Mask, and been replaced with the Dynamic Resurfacing Gel Mask. It sounds as though it’s broadly similar but with Acerola cherry – the cooling element is still there as are the enzymes which are both what I liked so much in the first place. Maybe it hasn’t disappeared exactly but has been given an update. Either way, somehow I didn’t notice. The Pro-Collagen Tri-Acid Peel is the newest peely product for the brand.

I’ve done a side by side of the ingredients of both products – they have some similarities but aren’t really the same. Tri-Acid is the superior product although if you’ve been happily using the Resurfacing Mask there’s no need to swap especially as there is an £18 price difference. Tri-Acid primarily uses mandelic and lactic acid set at 8% for a bit more power. In use, it certainly lives up to expectations – my skin looked immediately brighter and pepped up. I added some BioEffect serum after I’d rinsed it off and even by next morning I was perfectly hydrated and glowy.

The gel is quite thin – light blue – but the benefit of the texture is that a little goes a long way. You don’t need a thick layer at all. You leave it on for 15 minutes or so (so it’s a good one to have on in the bath if you fancy a leisurely pamper and soak). I didn’t get any tingling but was aware it felt ‘fresh’ on my skin. There’s a huge anti-ageing slant on this – they’ve crammed in as many scare-words as they can – but, while it might not knock off 20 years (because nothing does) it is particularly nice on older skin if you feel turnover has slowed and are more prone to a lacklustre complexion. So, bottom line, it absolutely does the job, is (too) pricey at £70 HERE, non affiliate HERE, and you might want to wait until you see a QVC deal which is sure to come.
