[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I’ve discovered a couple of flavours of lip balm that I quite like (one is sponsored content for IG – Carmex Wild Berry) including this one from elf which is orange creamsicle. They both have the same creamy or even milky backdrop to the taste and I’m wondering if this is the start of a milky trend.
This actually does taste orangey – little sign of the dreaded ethol maltol vanilla that appears in so many. It’s a lip exfoliator that leaves a balmy sheen although it takes a little while to get to the ‘grainy’ part of the balm. There are seven flavours: Brown Sugar, Coffee, Strawberry, Cotton Candy, Popcorn, Orange Creamsicle and Coconut. They’re not all in stock on e.l.f. but they’re stocked at Superdrug, Beauty Bay and Sephora so shouldn’t be too hard to come by.
The original lip exfoliator has had a formulation upgrade to include vitamin E, jojoba, shea and avocado, and uses sugar to do the scrubbing. It’s an extremely fine grain so you’ll get a gentle scrub and that’s all lips should ever have. I think back to those really knobbly grains that used to appear in pots of exfoliator and wonder how we put up with it. Ditto Fresh Brown Sugar Scrub – I used to love that stuff, absolutely love it, and now, years on think it was never a good idea to go with such bulky grains scratching against my skin. I think e.l.f. Orange Creamsicle Lip Exfoliator is a fun buy for a fiver with proper purpose. The flavour varieties are HERE although not Orange at the time of writing.
