Bakel Hydramist

One of my very first introductions to the wonders of hyaluronic was via a product called Jaluronic from Bakel. Even at £95 I was in! That was at least a few years ago, and the brand sort of went quiet for a while so I forgot all about it until a few days ago when I received the Bakel Hydramist. Very timely, too, since it’s boiling hot.

I think we could safely say that Bakel is for people who love to pamper their skin – more of a coinnoissuer skin brand than a quick fix and it’s very pricy. But, from past experience, also very effective.

Bakel Hydramist is billed as an anti-ageing water spray, and as we’re all spritzing our way through the heatwave, my feeling is you might as well being doing it with something that will benefit your skin. As far as revitalizing the skin and giving a sheer radiance, as claimed, I really can’t see a difference, but it certainly is calming and refreshing, and unlike spritzing with plain water, doesn’t leave any feeling of dryness. Exactly what you’d want on a baking hot day.

The spray contains Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (hydrating, soothing, anti-oxidant, protective), Mannitol (eliminating free radicals involved in the oxidative stress), Glycerin (hydrating), Hydroxyacetophenone (anti-oxidant) Cocoyl Proline (anti-ageing), Rosa Canina Fruit Extract (hydrating, soothing) Dipotassium Phosphate (protective), Hamamelis Virginiana Water (hydrating, soothing), Lilium Candidum Flower Water (hydrating, soothing, anti-oxidant), Citric Acid (anti-oxidant, gives luminosity and works as pH regulator), Rubus Idaeus Leaf Extract (hydrating, soothing, anti-oxidant), Jasminum Officinale Oil, Linalool, Benzyl Benzoate, (all anti-ageing) and Acetyl Tetrapeptide-11(anti-ageing).

Apart from the use of the anti-ageing term, which is pretty meaningless in the context of a spray, you can see that it’s so much more than water. As I say, it’s like the Rolls Royce of facial sprays, and not the Ford Escort, so you won’t be surprised to hear that it’s £47 HERE.
