Anyone who has read this blog a while will know that I love Bioeffect – it’s in very regular use. It’s one of the few products that I’ve stayed completely loyal to over the years. Given the choice, if I wasn’t testing different products all the time, it’s most likely the one I’d use always. When I first got to know the brand, it was literally just the serum – there was nothing else. And, I don’t think at that early stage, there was any plan for there to be anything else.
Bioeffect Volcanic ExfoliatorI know there’s a little bit of an ectoplasm thing going on with their newest launch, the Bioeffect Volcanic Exfoliator, but it’s definitely up there with the best of exfoliators. What’s most noticable about the exfoliator is the suspension gel that feels like a thick serum and is a mix of micro-crystalline lava, apricot kernel and salicylic acid. I’m raising my brows a bit at apricot kernel because that can be harsh on the skin – there are better exfoliating grains out there than that. And, it’s honestly anyone’s guess whether lava has any exfoliating merits over and above anything else.
However, salicylic acid is great for whisking off dead skin cells and clarifying (if you have very dry skin, avoid this) and I like the feel of Bioeffect Volcanic Exfoliator; it definitely left my skin smoother and brighter and was beautifully ‘glidey’ in use. I won’t bang on about EGF yet again but will refer you to a past post on the subject if you want to know more HERE. Bioeffect Volcanic Exfoliator is best for those with oily/regular skin, and it’s £30 HERE.

I feel it’s a bit of a poor show for a top end company to be putting apricot kernels into an exfoliator in this day & age. Such a cheap choice when there’s far better options on the market.
I’d love to know what effects you notice from the serum, Jane. I’ve been using it for a couple of months & whilst there’s nothing particularly wrong with it, I can’t seem to pinpoint where any improvement may be happening either.
Really? I’m so surprised.. I’d say that it’s dramatically smoother skin and more ‘glowy’.. in a nutshell (not walnut).. 😉
