[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I’ll admit that these have been sitting in my ‘to test’ box for several weeks because a) I hate matte and b) I hate powder. But, as is often the way, I’ve been surprised at just how comfortable the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Matte Powder Foundation is.
Incredibly, it comes in 50 shades which is, I think, the most shades I’ve come across for a base. As it turns out though, while the boxes have languished by my side untouched for so long, this has had rave reviews for giving a softened look to skin (a light blur perhaps) and for not at all behaving in the traditional cakey manner than many powder foundations continue to do.
A double section in the compact houses the powder foundation and underneath lies the section for the applicator sponge. It goes on generously and smoothly so you don’t need to use a lot to get a uniform look and you can build to your preferred coverage. I do see why it’s called ‘pro filter’ (sorry, pro filt’rrrr) because it definitely gives a diffused effect. It didn’t settle into creases or pores either which is something of a miracle. I like the fact that it claims to be humidity proof (something I obviously haven’t been able to test) because come summer, shiny skin (if you don’t like shine) is exacerbated by the heat.
Shades I have here are 200, 190 and 185. If you’re struggling to shade match, head to Findation HERE which compares brand shades – you type in whatever shades you’re currently using from whatever brand and they’ll give you your nearest match in the brand you want to buy. If you know your shade, head HERE where Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Matte Powder Foundation is £27, non affiliate HERE. There is a shade matcher on the Harvey Nichols site where I’ve sent you via the link but it didn’t work for me – perhaps you’ll be luckier and be able to cut out the middle step.
