Petal lip gloss is the legend amongst glosses!

The Jones Bootmaker catalogue landed on my doormat today and the models have have been subjected to mega shine highlighting and I think it detracts.

I just want 110 variations on Petal lip gloss and 50 variations of pink blusher from Bobbi Brown. Boring if you are Bobbi or work in product development I concede.

You’re right – they don’t seem to be able to retain the brand DNA. A lot of the purchases ELC have made have been to bring younger consumers on board but failed to address that younger make up buyers want to be able to connect with a brand in more ways that just as a consumer so they don’t feel spoken to or heard. They placed a big emphasis on marketing which alienated many established consumers. They are divesting so many staff globally in an attempt to balance the books and it seems to be working across some brands at least.

Agreed. The palettes are just more of the same, the same, the same.

I’ve come to the conclusion over the years that Ester Lauder is the kiss of death for niche brands. They may stump up cash but individuality is lost.

Bobbi Brown’s new line “Jones Road”
doesn’t inspire me either.

To be honest I’m totally uninspired by most make-up ranges at the moment

I know – it has lost its way a bit I agree.

Sadly the company seem to be a little lacklustre at present and it’s disappointing.
