I hardly know where to start with the Erborian Cleansing Creme that’s more of a balm than a creme. I will say, hand on heart, that it is one of the best cleansers I’ve ever tried, but there is no way that this is a creme. I’m already a fan of Erborian cleansers that remove make up like no others, so I was in a hurry to try this!
Erborian Cleansing CremeIn consistency, the Erborian Cleansing Creme is quite stiff – once it’s on your skin, it feels like a slightly gluey honey, so it’s not the easiest to massage around. You’re supposed to rinse it away at the end, but for testing purposes (because nothing shows you what’s coming off your face as well as cotton wool) I tried wiping it off with cotton wool pads before rinsing just to see. So, what came off was EVERYTHING!
Once you add water to it, the formula transforms into a milk. I think it would be better if it was just a simple balm cleanser without trying to add any transforming tricks. In terms of wiping away with a wet Washii, it disappears quite readily but leaves an emolient film behind which means if you skin runs to dry, you won’t get that tight feeling with it.
In terms of ingredients, I know other Erborian products contain silicones but to be honest, I have no problem with them. The herbs are a mix of chamomile, tiger grass, rosemary, Japanese Knotweed, green tea and Licorice which gives it a weird and slightly plastic smell, but it isn’t unpleasant by any means. I’m publishing the ingredient list below because despite the herbal claims, it’s not a natural brand so I think it’s useful to be able to see it. I will maintain that in terms of cleansing, I don’t know another of its type that does the job as well as this. It’s £30 HERE.

I am very excited to learn about this. I really prefer balms for cleansing but the pots can be very inconvenient, especially for travel. So one in a tube sounds perfect. I’ll be trying this for sure.
Is it specifically a make-up remover or can it be used for everyday skin cleanse if I don’t wear make-up?
Every day cleanse is absolutely fine x
