[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Dr Andrew Weil, responsible for creating the Mega-Mushroom range with Origins. What a lovely, interesting man he is – passionate about mushrooms and their role in anti-inflammatory effects throughout the body. If you have inflamed or reddened skin, this is a range to look at.
As a brand, Origins tends to veer to more gentle formulas – they have only one retinol product for example (and it’s very good) and stays away from the harsh skin strippers, preferring to address concerns with a lighter touch. I say this because I find it very irritating that all the skin care brands that sold us these very strong peel products are now coming up with mists and lotions to soothe the irritation they can cause when frankly, instead of compelling consumers to buy more, they should have made less aggressive formulas in the first place. So, I feel like Soothing Hydra Mist is probably best for smoothing out the issues caused by other brands. Given that the entire mega mushroom range is for soothing inflammation, it’s probably the best thing you can use for quick and effective results in calming. In use, it feels immediately soft and gentle on the skin and leaves a very light veil of moisture.
Without being a medical claim, there are good reports of Mega Mushroom being effective for rosacea. It’s both soothing and hydrating (with hyaluronic) so ideal for after sports or sun (should we ever see any) and seems very reasonable at £22 HERE, non-affiliate HERE.
