[purchase/affiliate/ad] I think I’ve been quite restrained sales wise but I have a January birthday so usually need to find something for myself from my mum and dad. As usual, though, I’ve been lured into the Hush Sale, the Fitflop Sale and a new brand find, Saint & Sofia. I have become a more discerning buyer I feel – without shops open impulse buying is off the cards (and even when we had a Tier 3 respite from closed shops I didn’t really feel lured in) so I’m buying pieces I really do want … justifying (in my head) a more pricy buy negating the magpie things I didn’t buy. I know, I don’t have to justify it, but invariably I do – we all do!
This is a black cashmere v-neck (hard to find as everything is round neck) with a kind of multi-coloured fleck in the weave (I know there is a name for it and I can’t remember it) which is such a ‘me’ sweater I could not leave it sitting there. Sizes are XS to XL with everything still in stock other than XS which is low stock. It’s reduced from £195 to £115 HERE, non-affiliate HERE. I will wear this with everything!
Again, this is a very ‘me’ kind of a thing. I didn’t know the brand (it popped up on Instagram so consider me thoroughly influenced) and I think it’s something I will wear for years and years with jeans, black skinnies, white shirts, dresses – it’s just a very versatile cardigan. It’s £180 reduced from £280 HERE, non-affiliate HERE. The fabric is a wool/alpaca blend and it’s a limited edition with only 50 made. It doesn’t say how many are left but one less now that’s for sure :-). Actually, it’s really worth a browse on their website HERE because they have some very cool things – jumpers with those leather pockets as well. I seem to have chosen one of their most expensive things but overall the price level is kind of Jigsaw or Whistles with a vibe that’s a bit like All Saints meets Me & Em. Saint & Sofia is a London based brand that focuses on environmental impact and sustainability – and I might say, the only on-line brand that has ever included a tip option at the sales point. I don’t know whether I love this or not.
I know, I’m so weak. My friend Wendy bought a pair in the sale and once I’d seen them on her, I bought myself some having resisted them for so long. I bought the calf height version which are sold out other than in size 6 HERE but there are still a few of the ankle versions (also try John Lewis) left for £79 (from £135) HERE. They don’t look nearly as clumpy on the feet as the do in the pictures and are perfect for walking and not getting cold feet because they’re wool lined. My old calf lengths are really on their last legs and will have to go to recycling so these are a good replacement for something already worn into the ground. I wish Fitflop did a sole replacement service because it’s only the soles that are worn out. Having said I’ll send them to recycling, I think I will just keep them for indoor wear and never have chilly feet ever. Non-affiliate is HERE. Jane, I always look forward to your posts on fashion buys and discovering something new. I’ve decided to stick to UK and European designed/manufactured clothing and it’s not easy. In December I bought about a dozen items from Whistles, Hush, Boden, NYDJ & John Lewis & Partners and all but one was Made in China. I had my eye on some lovely AllSaints dresses but they too were made in China (they have very good information on their website). So, will definitely give Saint & Sofia a try.

Oh great – I think it’s a very ‘me’ brand. I gave up on Me & Em because everything is SO long and they stopped making their layering tops.
