[unpaid/purchase/affiliate] This is another of my new (to me) brand purchases from Superdrug who seem to have taken on a lot of similar brands firmly targeting Gen Z. It looks so much the same as so many others that I really struggled to find a point of difference – the ‘About Us’ section gives no clue to who might be behind it, if indeed there is any one particular person and it wasn’t just algorithm generated in the office of a venture capital company. I would find it hard to feel any loyalty to such anonymity and can’t see it as any more than an impulse purchase brand. It’s suddenly making all the stalwarts – Bobbi, Guerlain, Givenchy for example – look more tempting for a comfort buy because they feel familiar and – yes, friendly!

I picked out this shade, Peach Please, because it’s the kind of bright coral that quite suits me but there are loads of colours to choose from. In terms product quality – it’s not bad at all. The brand has the leaping bunny certification and is vegan. The finish is satin so there’s a bit of flattering sheen and the colour intensity is good. It feels buttery (contains almond butter), soft on the lips and it lasted well. It’s got a floral fragrance that’s not overpowering and didn’t give me that strange back-taste that you can sometimes get with lipstick. The quality is well above (in my view) the £7 price, but the packaging is a plastic hell with a double wrap layer (that I had to cut off with a knife) – weirdly, it looks worse than it actually is! The colour swatches on the website have extra sheen put on them (a variety of carefully spaced light effect dots – thank you Photoshop) that doesn’t exist in real life.

Overall, I’m pleased with it although I think it will end up in the drawer of forgotten things but if you want a quick and non-pricy colour boost, they’re HERE, non-affiliate HERE.
