[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Guerlain always comes up trumps with a tidy edit dripping with glamour for the festive season. I’m really happy to see metallic eye crayons – the easiest ever way to get your chic on.
I like the way the brand has gone gold and silver – I mean why not go all in? The Mad Eyes Shadow Duos (£28) come in Dazzling Silver and Icy Grey and Deep Plum & Shiny Gold – a couple of swipes across the lid and you’re all done.
This time, Les Meteorites (£46) focuses on gold with lustred spheres of varying gold shades. There is something about opening a pot of Les Meteorites that is so evocative – the scent of sweet violet, the sound of them rolling against the tin and the desire to squash one. I can’t help it and it’s always been the same. But, you can legitimately squash one if you want to and add it to some lip balm or gloss to get a sheeny bare lip or to add some lustre to lipstick. You could also use the crushings with a creme blush if you want to bring light to the cheeks or go the traditional way and sweep with a fluffy brush over all of the spheres to get an amalgamation of tones.
I am not at all sure how I feel about the Brow Framer in Sparkling Gold (£31). I mean – it’s very, very sparkly indeed and I am just not sure how well I can carry off such a noticeable look on my brows. I have a fringe and I like to be adventurous but I feel that this is just a bit too far for me to be comfortable. I can just hear my friends saying, ‘Jane, you seem to have a bit of glitter in your eyebrows’ as a friendly pointer to wipe it away. I think I would like it on someone else – just not me! As you can see, there’s a new Terracotta bronzer design in 03 Medium Warm (£39).
The stand out piece is the Guerlain Double Mirror case (£32) and Rouge G lipsticks (£26) – two options of red shot with gold – Gold Red and Brick Red. There are also colour options on the sequinned case with ruby sequins or the one you see, gold sequins. There’s a very premium option of black with a gold bee at £250. Surprisingly, the gold is very subtle – the overall effect is more one of a lightly lustred red.
I’m sorry the Rouge G has gone so askew! This shade is Gold Red – it’s an ideal red for me because it’s more orange toned. Then it’s Deep Plum and Shiny Gold followed by Icy Grey and Dazzling Silver. Escentual has items from this collection for a bit less than anywhere else so head there first – HERE.

I’ve been using the Les Meteorites pot of pearls for years & know exactly what you mean – the smell, the sound, the images.
When my Daughter was small she would watch me put my make up on & would ask if she could smell the ‘ little marbles’ & try some. Now she’s a teenager & when my pot of Les Meteorites occasionally goes missing, I know where to find it – on top of her chest of drawers with her own make up!
I think I might have to treat her or hide mine.
There is something so glamorous & also so special about Guerlain, I think for me it’s the heritage of the brand.
The Guerlain sales assistants are always so lovely too & give lots of samples.
That’s so nice! Yes, a pot needs to find its way to her I think 🙂
