[unpaid/sample] The texture of the Posh lipsticks reminds me a lot of Hourglass – it’s that same barely there glide that deposits instant colour.
I’m happy that these have some shine to them that allows light to the lips. They’re a mix of waxes and oils which accounts for the softness – rosehip, coconut and avocado are all stellar players for nourished lips, as well as a pomegranate/jojoba element for extra smoothing. You will not feel a hint of dryness after using these. My lips go dry at the sound of breeze, never mind new lipstick formulas, and there is not a trace of that dry feeling – personally, I’d classify them as conditioning lipsticks.
They feel nicely weighty in the hand thanks to the metal casings, but the bullets are slender and account for only about half the length of the case. There are 9 shades, all in a neutral palette apart from one bright red shade called Pop.
From bottom to top: Pop, Pixi, Sway and Pout. Sway is my favourite – it’s a flattering pinky/brown that is almost an exact match to my natural lip colour so I get an amplification without looking ‘made up’. They’re pricy at £34 each HERE but do feel more special than your every day lippie. Oh, I should mention that Pixi, the red shade, is quite blue toned to my eye – I think it looks orange toned in the swatch.

Hey Jane. Are the contents refillable? Wondering given the metal casing. Couldn’t see anything on the VB site to suggest it wash. Posh packaging is awesome in the VB line but I’m confused why they don’t have refills, given the obvious effort (and weight) of the packaging. Also, it being…2021…so yer know ‘reuse’ where possible being a kinda obvious need.
This is what I found “We are actively engaging resources to incorporate even more post-consumer materials, ocean-bound plastic, and refillable packaging into production.” So, looks like not yet 🙂
Ha! “not yet” would have saved them the £ for the marketing spiel ; ) Thanks Jane for taking the time to find out. They really have dropped the ball on that – even when the brand was launched it wasn’t as if these conversations weren’t common place. I guess Posh doesn’t put the recycling out much though ; )
:-))
It’s weird because they focus on much less packaging – they ship in cardboard boxes with water-dissolvable peanuts – and no brushes which are usually superfluous, but the product packaging doesn’t appear to be recyclable.
I have not tried Lauren Conrad’s beauty collection. She was an actress on a show I never watched but her lipstick tubes, for examples, are 100% recyclable. Mixed reviews on the products, though!
I think it’s a work in progress – but clearly more to do.
