[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I last reviewed this product in 2009 and it’s come to my attention once again. I’m not a big concealer user but have been looking for a product to wear under Charlotte Tilbury’s new shade of Colour Chameleon, Pillow Talk. It slides off my lids as fast as I can put it on and that is so unusual because I can wear the other shades without this problem. In fact, they’re some of my favourite eye colours.
The shade I have here is Bare – there are four to choose from but none for very deep tones as yet. I am sure they will be working on it. You really don’t need very much of this – a tiny dot on your finger worked across your lids will be plenty. You can take this up to your brow bone if you just want an eye brightener but you probably need to be more tone specific where as if you use it as a primer to keep a hold of shadow the shade doesn’t matter as much.
This is the subject of my problem! It’s a pretty metallic peachy pink that gives lids a flash of brightness and looks beautiful with brown eyeliner. Trish McEvoy Eye Base Essentials kept it in place for the whole day – Pillow did not move from my lid and neither did fade. There was still plenty to remove when I came to cleanse in the early evening. I used a balm cleanser that took it away no problem at all. I get a lot of queries about oily lids and it does seem that the antidote to that is the Eye Base based on my own experience. It’s quite pricy at £31 but once you have it, it’s going to give you a lot of trouble free lids. This type of product can ‘shrink’ the skin as it dries, leaving lids looking more creased than they actually are but while it did happen a tiny bit, it wasn’t anything notable and I’m sure what others will notice is your shadow not your skin. In fact, if you look at the swatches below, it’s the colour exacerbating my skin rather than the base.

I love this eye base too. I wear it just on its own to even out redness on my eyelids. I also love Trish’s under eye brightener.
I tried it as an eye brighter on its own and it just looked a bit pale on my tone – I’ll try again 🙂
