[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I’m not usually organised enough to post empties – I think I’ll hang on to an empty bottle until I have a few more to do a proper post and then forget I was meant to be keeping them and chuck them in recycling. So, it’s something of a miracle that I’ve managed to get three empties all saved up for this post.
I think this is at least my third bottle of Mega Mushroom Micellar Water – it’s one of my favourite micellars because it’s so soft on the skin and takes off all of the grime and most of the make up (it’s not up to waterproof mascara but few micellars are). There is nothing stripping about it and if anything, it’s hydrating and has a ferment complex if you are mindful of your microbiome. I’ve looked around for deals on this and it seems the best place to buy it is the Origins website where you’ll receive £16 of samples when you buy – it’s not the cheapest micellar by a long way but it certainly a superior one. It’s £30 HERE. There are also some sale products on the site – interesting that it’s mainly treatment lotions and essences which suggests that we didn’t adopt the Japanese skin care regime in the way that brands hoped we would.
L’Occitane Immortelle Reset Nuit I think will also be at least my third bottle – I usually always have something to test on the go but in the rare in between times I keep this on my bedside table to use before bed. It’s a water-gel consistency, so is feather light but gives skin instant pliability and softness – my skin is always better by morning in terms of smoothness, hydration and clarity. In fact, it’s something that benefits from not being used all the time because when I do use it my skin perks up and I feel if I used it all the time that effect would be lost – or at least I wouldn’t notice it in the same way. It always feels like a treat. At £50 HERE it’s a considered purchase (telling that it is never in the sale) but it’s free delivery at least. Scooting about the sale section, top buys are the Verbena Body Cream and Gel – literally half price from £26 to £13 HERE, and Pamplemouse Body Lotion at £14.50 instead of £24. Weirdly, L’Occitane has quietly got into lifestyle accessories so don’t be surprised to find a (very uninspiring) umbrella at half price and some glasses cases – if you stock up during the summer sales on stocking fillers and gifts (I do!) you’ll be in 7th heaven!
REN AHA Smart Renewal Body Serum is on offer HERE for £28 instead of £35 and I’d rush at that because I think it’s too much at £35 even though it’s an excellent skin smoother. It uses lactic acid to resurface the skin and eliminate any dead skin cells so that your body skin looks and feels fresher. It really does work.

I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned it before but if you have a John Lewis card you can take 5 empty beauty product containers back to a beauty counter (any brands accepted) for £5 off your beauty purchase on the spot. Boots is also doing a recycling programme mainly aimed at harder to recycle containers such as toothpaste tubes and pump dispensers in some stores. It’s more of a faff in that you have to photograph the containers, select brands and type of product in the app, get it checked and a code to scan from No7 staff and then I think show a code you get in an email for £2.50 off valid for a few days – best google it as they changed the rules a while ago and I’ve not done it since they changed them.
that’s fantastic info – thank you for sharing it.
