[purchase] I finally caved and bought the Victoria Beckham Kajal Liner in Bronze – I’ve thought about it so often I knew the day would come! I don’t really have any relationship with the PR here these days so it’s a happy purchase that I’m glad to have made although the £5 postage fee did sting somewhat. For a pencil!!
This isn’t your traditional bronze shade – in fact, I think it’s more of an antiqued gold because there are some olive undertones in there and you won’t find the usual pinkish tones that bronze can give. I’ve recommended this shade so many times to anyone with blue or green eyes because it’s so perfect for those colours.
I had a slight concern that it might be too light for my brown eyes but I really don’t think it is (pic coming up) and I played around with it a bit using a brown kohl lightly and layering Bronze on top of that. Either way looks good, I think.
As well as inner rims you can also wear it as a lid liner – it’s coming on holiday with me so I can use it a bit more like that.
These kajals are absolutely buttery soft – they melt on skin contact so you get a really nice lay down of product but if you prefer to smoke things up instead of attempting a precision line (hello me!) there’s a smudger at the other end of the pencil. In the UK, Net A Porter and Cult sell VB Beauty but there is no stock of the kajals – I’m noticing that so many brands are out of stock of many, many items at the moment, but that’s why I went directly. I recycled the box without paying attention to where it was posted from but at the back of my mind, I thought it would be sent from the USA. It took about a week to arrive. Anyway, it’s £20 HERE. I very much wish I hadn’t seen the Olive shade…..

It’s funny as when I got my VB email about the new Olive shade kajal, I thought bet Jane would love this
I am very tempted too……..
Haha… you know me so well :-)))
You read my mind!! I’ve been lusting after this for weeks. I bought a Loreal copy and liked it. Every time I went to buy this the p+p out me.off. However reading about this fired me up and one is on the way.
Oh please let me know how you get on with it Morag 🙂
Gosh, looks absolutely lovely on you Jane – it’s the sort of shade that really brings out the shy greens and blues in my mostly-grey eyes but sadly my eyes water too much in the summer for liner…. Maybe a winter treat for me 🙂
Cheers, Jo
Oh thank you – yes go for it. My friend Nicola wears it on her blue eyes and its amazing!
Hi Jane, are these long lasting do you know? I like to use pencils on my upper waterline and am always looking for one that stays put
Well, it’s hard to find one that stays put because the eyes are naturally moist. There’s a trick that a Chanel make up artist showed me which is to use a brush to add powder (with a fine brush) over the kohl in the same colour. It does work to keep it intense and somewhat longer lasting but I treat kohl like gloss – always going to have to top up at some point 🙂
