Best Of The Rest Advent Calendars

[unpaid/affiliate] With just The Body Shop Advent calendar to go on this site (barring surprise arrivals) I thought I’d do a very quick round up of others that have caught my eye and then we can put the whole thing to bed with an extra blanket. Famous last words, but this is the intention today, at least 🙂

The Anthropologie Beauty Advent Calendar caught my eye because the contents are so different to the usual fare. There is a kind of standard roster of products that pop up in so many calendars and it really looks as though the beauty buyer has gone to the best of lengths not to replicate other calendars. If you are curious to discover new and niche brands, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in the least. A few tempters are Verden D’orangerie Hand and Body Wash, Upcircle Face and Body Bar, Floral Street Mini Discovery Set, Plant Apothecary Start Happy Deluxe Body Wash, Esker Firming Body Oil, Benamor Jacaranda Boxed Hand Cream, Magic Organic Apothecary Fortifying Bath Shot and Lanolips 101 Ointment. I’m imagining I’m in the ideas meeting for the 2022 MAC advent calendar when someone says, let’s make a round one. Everyone faints. The idea is brought to life and all involved exit left with a mic drop. I mean, come on – it is rather clever and the level of origami-esq packaging required is next level. I love it for that, safe in the knowledge that MAC products are enduring, anyone can wear them and I’ve never known anyone not fall instantly in love with a Mini-MAC Lipstick. This is a more modestly priced advent calendar at £44.95 (with £85 value) HERE containing a selection of Sephora own brand products. There’s a bigger one for £139 (easily the best value with a somewhat staggering £700 value HERE) or a £69.99 option HERE. If you’re not in the market for one of the really pricy calendars, £45 seems reasonable especially if it’s doubling as a birthday gift or similar. It’s something that crosses all the age categories, you can get to know the Sephora products and if I gift advents for autumn/early winter birthdays, I promise a full size of their favourite (within reason!) for Christmas.

The Jo Malone London advent is still in stock. That’s somewhat amazing and I would not like to be the person at Jo Malone towers trying to estimate sales this year. However, the reason it caught my eye this time is because they’re changed things up a bit and the calendar includes a snow globe (I adore a beauty snow globe), a key ring and assorted mini candles alongside the fragrances. I remember being shocked that their very first advent had no candles in it and yet they are such a core product of the brand. You’ll find, fragrance-wise, White Moss & Snowdrop, Velvet Rose & Oud and Lime, Basil & Mandarin. Not a whiff in sight of Pomegranate Noir which is unusual so I wonder if it’s falling off in popularity.  There’s always a story behind what you see ;-). It’s £350 HERE.
