If you’ve followed my blog for a while, then you’ll know I’m weak for a coconut scented beauty treat. Every now and again, products come along that are so beautifully scented they take up permanent residence in the bathroom and it’s a whole family tussle for them!
I have to say there isn’t much on the outside of the Jason Smoothing Coconut range that indicates what it smells like on the inside – it’s the most delicious blast of pina colada. I sort of feel it should come with a cocktail umbrella!
Scent aside, Smoothing Coconut Hand & Body Lotion is easily one of the most moisturising (in that very supple feeling, skin sheen looking way) lotions I’ve used. In fact, ‘lotion’ doesn’t quite do it justice – I’d say more of a liquid balm, really. Both the Smoothing Coconut Hand & Body plus the giant size Body Wash are post-holiday perfect to hang on to your tan a little longer and stave off any dryness.
I am not particularly prone to dry skin because I take skin supplements, but the one and only time this doesn’t apply is after a holiday, when my shins can get a little bit flaky. I think it’s the same for everyone, so this test has come at the ideal time as I had a sun-baked weekend away very recently. It’s indicated for extremely dry skin, and because there are no parabens, SLS, petrolatum, synthetic fragrances, artificial colours or Phthalates, but instead pure virgin coconut oil combined with Vitamin E and antioxidant polyphenols, it really is a natural treat for skin.
I’m using both hand and body and shower in the mornings – that’s enough for my skin to feel softer and more supple pretty much the whole day through, but if your skin is extra dry, you may need a top up at night.
There is nothing about these products that I don’t like – despite the massive bottle of body wash (887ml), it’s not going to last long at the rate it’s being used by all of us. It just smells of happy, so it’s the best possible start to the day.
The Jason brand has been in existence since 1959 and one of the first to offer natural based products without harsh chemicals. If lowering your use of chemicals is high priority, it’s well worth a look, because they have everything from fluoride free toothpaste to gluten free shampoos. To me, there’s no negative impact on performance for all the things it doesn’t have (and we’re probably all better off without them), and despite what I think are extraordinarily reasonable prices, they’re doing exactly what they say they will in terms of hydration. The bonus is the fragrance which I’m slightly addicted to now – fruity, fresh, coconutty and fabulous – and it’s making me wish I was writing a postcard from the tropics right now!
The Jason Smoothing Coconut Body Wash is £9.99 HERE and the Jason Hand & Body Lotion is £7.99 HERE.

I love the Jason range. Their shampoos are sulphate-free and conditioners are silicone-free. And they are so reasonably priced. A very underrated brand I think.
