Also, maybe people bought a surfeit of them during lockdown and they still have a load to use up, or we’re going out more and aren’t home to burn them! £16 sounds more reasonable though.

A friend recommended Nest to me just before Christmas last year. They are really very nice. The last candles that I bought were 2 from the Espa sale. One for me, one for a present. They are really lovely. I do still love scented candles. So do most of my friends, and my nieces who love Diptyque for birthdays and Christmas. Scented candles are absolutely a luxury but I do try to have them if I can manage it. I will confess though Jane, I try to buy them when on sale or discounted and I’m usually succesful, with the exception of Diptyque.
