[affiliatelink] I really don’t like dressing gowns at all – I never, ever wear them although I have had several of them as gifts over the years that go off to Oxfam intermittently. I always feel a big strangled in them – they’re always so big, especially towelling robes and if you’re 5ft 3ins like me, invariably you’re swamped. They’re also too heavy! I have never found one that feels right. So, this hoodie knit from H&M is exactly the kind of thing that I like to wear over pjs instead of a robe.
It’s exactly the right kind of loose knit, sloppy style, down-time kind of top that says relax to me. It’s got some wool in it but I don’t think we can say it’s a wool sweater – I don’t mind that because you can just chuck it in the washing machine without worrying you’ll end up with a top to fit a mouse. It goes in sizes XXS to XXL and I think I’ll probably opt for L for the full sloppiness. It’s not available in store so I’m ordering this up this afternoon. The hoodie is £24.99 HERE.

For me, dressing gowns are just for first thing in the morning before you get dressed. Any lounging should be done in PJs with some sort of sweatshirt or hoodie, so this looks right up my street!
I only ever wear a dressing gown to and from the shower. Have never met anyone else who isn’t keen on them so hello!
hey *waves* 🙂
If you have a food bank that accepts clothing donations nearby, they would love any unwanted dressing gowns – people in hostels or refuges usually have to share bathroom facilities so dressing gowns are really needed (and relatively expensive) but hardly ever donated.
Thanks for flagging this up – will certainly bear it in mind for next time x
Are you really 5’3″ ? That’s my height too. I have always pictured you as 5’10”. I love these comfy sweater hoodies as lounge wear. I would wear them if the weather allowed, but I am still wearing shorts and have the air conditioning on. I get the feeling with climate change, I won’t get a chance to wear any knits this year.
I see my neighbor across the street walk out in her robe. I don’t think she knows I see her!️
nope.. 5ft 3 and 3/4 to be precise!
I have three dressing gowns and never wear any of them. Jumper or hoodie over a nightdress, much better. Although not when you are still wearing it when there’s a delivery, and your flat door shuts behind you and you have no phone.
oh no!!!
Hi Jane, just took delivery of the hoodie and thought I could give some useful info about sizing. I’m five feet two, and a curvy size 10. I got the small and it’s nicely roomy, it’s not as long as you would imagine from the website photography though, bearing in mind that I’m short, it’s not quite bum covering on me if that’s an issue for anyone! it’s lovely and soft. Quite a light , airy sort of weight and the colour is a sort of apricot/camel. hope that helps!
Thanks so much – I’m still waiting for mine so that’s great feedback.. I ordered a size M but I wonder if I’d get more length from a L. I don’t mind that it’s not bum covering as it’s to wear with PJs or to yoga.
You can’t be 5’3 in my head you were always 5’10!!!! I’m quite disturbed at what I’ve just read!
I wish I was 5 10!! That’s about my daughter’s height.
