[unpaid/ad/affiliate] I’m flagging this sale up because I’m such a fan of the brand – and (used to) go every year to their ‘sample sale’ in South Molton Lane to stock up on presents. I have a (small) Smythson diary every year because I really don’t like on-line diary/appointment reminders and a Smythson address book that I got at the newly opened Terminal 5 at Heathrow many years ago. I’m still using the paper system and like it so won’t be changing any time soon… in fact, my most recent on-line reminder was for a holiday that we couldn’t take and it pinged me every day for a week reminding me where I wasn’t going. Smythson note-books are also still (but less so in the digital age) a popular press gift although I can’t remember the last time I received one that way. So, if you like fancy stationery, taking notes and doodling this is for you – if you don’t, click away now!
I’m just going to add a few examples – these small, leather bound note books are almost all exactly half price, so £24 instead of £49 HERE with multiple colour choices and if you think you want to stock up I’d do it sooner rather than later – the only way I knew the sale was happening was an email from one of the affiliate agencies so everyone will be getting those.
The yellow version above is £19 – it seems that there is a little variation on colour/price I think. But, these are just a few of the ‘statement’ notebooks to choose from – there are so many! ‘Live, Love Laugh’, ‘Travels and Experiences’ (in my case, Tesco and the garden centre, but they felt noteworthy at the time!) and ‘Busy Bee’… a good selection, in other words. There are also lots of accessories and handbags (which go WAY up the price scale) but the last time I used a proper hand bag was 3 months ago. NB: Do check measurements as sizes vary.
Non affiliate is HERE.

They are delicious and very tempting indeed. I’m always gutted by my horrible handwriting though!
Since using a laptop all time, mine has definitely deteriorated.
Oh good it’s not just me then! I’m shocked at my own handwriting now, I used to be so neat! Definitely a lost art lost due to all that typing/tapping now!
Not just you!
So wantable! I get through an astonishing amount of notebooks (as well as diaries, of course), never having managed the switch to onscreen note writing etc. Too indirect, and I do enjoy the physical aspect of wielding the perfect one too. Stationery gives me a thrill, it has to be said!
I write so much, lists and notions and plans, it’s a joke really, since in reality I’m very disorganised.
I’ve long lusted after Smythson products….your post has made me consider that spending a bit more could actually bring much-needed focus to my obsessive noodling in loser! Thank you x
They feel quite precious, I must admit, in a way that other notebooks don’t. But frivolity, not necessity – although if you are an assiduous note writer then properly a treat 🙂
Jeepers, Jane, I need to get to grips with flipping autocorrect before buying any more notebooks! Apologies for the gobbledygook bits above.
we all speak like this now :-)))))
