[purchase/affiliate] I don’t need asking twice to find lovely cashmere at sale prices so I’ve done a quick round up of the best of the bargains. Sale time is the best time buy cashmere which can often be madly expensive (I also check summer sales because off-season tends to be even better value) so it just brings a bit more into the affordable luxury arena.
I have both of these and they easily rank in my most worn – I have to convince myself not to wear them because I want to almost every day! The first is a funnel neck which is just short of a full polo neck – actually I like it better – and it’s HERE for £139 instead of £345 (more on this reduction later). They’re both from Brand Alley by a brand called Scott & Scott and it really is beautiful cashmere – low bobble and nicely generous in cut. It’s currently only available in Small but a good alternative is the No.11 Cashmere Tunic HERE for £149. The boyfriend hoodie is £125 from £369 HERE. I got mine in Large and it’s the right size for me (12/14) and there are light grey and light blue versions as well. So, to the reductions. I’ve looked a lot at the Scott & Scott brand (also No. Eleven Cashmere) which both seem exclusive to Brand Alley (you have to sign up for alerts but it’s easy to unsubscribe as soon as you’ve shopped) and not sold anywhere else. Where they have previously been the higher prices is anyone’s guess so I have questions. If you know the brand Brodie Cashmere (which I LOVE and have nothing from), it seems that Scott & Scott directorship is the same. So, my guess is that Scott & Scott is a sub-brand of Brodie that supplies solely to Brand Alley – a lot of the designs are the same although the patterns are less intricate.
I found the first sweater in light blue at Mango with a good reduction from £119 to £79 – there’s a light brown version as well and they’re HERE. What an easy wear over your trackies :-). The second sweater is from HUSH but only available in XXS so I’ll ignore it (it was in stock in more sizes earlier this morning) and point you to Uniqlo where more or less the same simple crew neck style is £59.99 from £79.99 in a choice of 20 colours HERE.
The grey sweater with heart sleeves is just asking for jeans and warm boots – it’s from Cocoa Cashmere, another favourite brand of mine. In fact, it’s worth browsing their site for brighter colours than I’ve picked for today. It’s £135 from £209 HERE. The second in a kind of ashes of roses pink is at Harvey Nichols and is by Vince. It’s £237 from £395 HERE. I’d recommend a read of my How To Mothproof Your Cashmere feature HERE.
The Maeve Cashmere cardigan in the first picture is my favourite piece from the picks – it’s exactly half price at Anthropologie for £110 instead of £220 HERE. I love the relaxed style, the fact that you can wear it over pyjamas as easily as you can style it with boots and trousers or make a floaty maxi dress wearable in the icy weather. I’d wear a lace topped cami under it I think because the V is deep enough to see it well. The second blue sweater (there’s a lot of icy blue around just now) is from Jigsaw was £185 at John Lewis and is now £129 HERE. It’s a boxy style which I really like as it’s loose and square and balances body shapes nicely.

Hi Jane, I wanted to thank you for recommending Scott & Scott… I was looking forward to the Brodie sample sale this Black Friday but it didn’t happen; I remembered you like cashmere, so I searched for it on your site in case you knew anything and came across this post. I bought two cashmere jumpers from Scott & Scott instead and I’m very happy with them so far – great value, unless they shrink when washed which I doubt will happen! Thank you so much 🙂
You’re so welcome – I believe that Brodie makes Scott & Scott for Brand Alley – I’m in my S&S grey cashmere hoodie today actually! I do a cool hand wash in Woolite and a low temperature and do a machine rinse before drying … that really seems to work.
They definitely do and feel very similar to Brodie – great find. Thanks for the laundry advice!
no problem!
