The first hair retouch product like this that I ever used was Rita Hazan – it also has a very fine spray nozzle. The difference is that Rita Hazan Root Concealer is $25 while the L’Oreal Paris Magic Retouch version is £8.99. Which I still think is a bit on the pricy side for spraying myself a brown ear, which is what happened.
The spray is very fine indeed, but despite the slender nozzle, it’s not all that accurate in its target especially if you’re going for any side stripes or around the fringe line. You have to wipe up afterwards. This doesn’t happen with the hair retouch brush versions which are a whole lot easier to use in terms of accuracy, but if you’re just doing the top of your head for a parting root touch up, it’s absolutely fine. I still wouldn’t do it in a white t-shirt!
In terms of coverage, it covers very well – you do need to shake it up first though! If your issue is greys showing up in your parting, go for it – if you need finer areas doing, such as the wispy bits by your ears, then maybe not. There are five shades from light blond through to black.
You can find L’Oreal Paris Magic Retouch HERE.

I don’t dye my hair but is this just like more expensive coloured batiste?
I don’t think it’s claiming any ‘dry shampoo’ elements.. just a temporary dye spray.
I think it’s really smart! I think it won’t work on my dark roots as I have blond hair 🙁

I tried this and although the colour is great my greys are worst at my hairline and it went everywhere. Which touch up brushes would you recommend Jane? If they colour like this but with precision I am in!
I was thinking.. if you already have this product, why not try spraying it onto a brush and see if you can precision apply that way. x
Ooh good idea! Yes I will try and keep a look out for one which comes with a brush as well.
Try an old mascara brush if you have one x
