My hair loves a bit of silicone, but if you read my post on shampoo (whether budget shampoos are equal to expensive shampoos) you’ll know that not all hair types like it at all. I spoke about my daughter getting a greasy, waxy patch in her hair after using a budget shampoo, that took a long time to really shift, whereas I never had a problem, using exactly the same shampoo. So I will happily reach for the silicone, especially when it comes to the hair finishing product, serum.
Swell Protect & Renew Serum is silicone free, and instead has a 97% natural source, comprising Abyssinian oil, Quinoa and Oat Beta-Glucans. If you’re used to the silky, slippy feel of a silicone serum, this is where your faith in the product might shake, because Swell’s serum feels more watery with no slip. However, once you’ve worked it through your hair and begun drying, you’ll soon start to see it’s doing more than just disappearing into your hair. I got an amazing shine with this – better, I’d say, that my usual silicone serum, with soft feeling hair as well. I’m really impressed with it. It’s £20 (50ml) HERE and you don’t need a great deal of it.
