When I was introduced to this product, it was being billed as a ‘miracle’. Cue a massive eyeroll because we all know that’s the most overused word in beauty. But, KHairPep did surprise me by being somewhat incredible when I was quite convinced it was just another hair mask. My hair is coloured (home dye) but I wouldn’t say it was particularly dry. A test amongst friends had me feeling their dyed and processed hair strands and realising that mine is pretty good nick.
What KhairPep Transforme Masque claims to do is bind a long chain peptide (K18PeptideTM) to the inner structure of the hair and return strength and elasticity. It’s a leave-in treatment which is the last thing I’d want to put in my hair but a test is a test. The product itself feels super slippy and very soapy – I actually nearly changed my mind when I opened the pot. You need very little of this and just work it through the hair before blow drying. As soon as it’s on your hair, the formula acts as a detangler so a comb through is easy.
Once I started blow drying, which took a little longer than usual (I used Aveda Invanti Shampoo beforehand), I kept thinking that my hair, although ridiculously soft, wasn’t getting any shine on it. I felt that it looked duller than usual which wasn’t the effect I was going for. I really cannot say why though, but the shine sort of came back as the day went on, well after the blow dry.
Hair is complicated, and it’s easy to be baffled by science on this one – all I can say though is that while my friends and I were all groping each other’s locks, mine was easily the softest, the most flexible feeling and the shiniest. KHairPep totally works – I’d love some feedback if you go ahead and try it and you have very dry, over processed hair. Paying £47.50 for a 50ml tub is a big ask – but a little goes a very long way with this one. It’s HERE.

I abuse my hair so much between blow dry, straightening, and curling. I want to try this product. I need to start being nicer to my locks. 🙂
