[productsample/affiliatelink]Bearing in mind my current (improving) hair woes, I’m taking a lot more notice of what I’m putting on my head at the moment. The Omorovicza Revitalizing Scalp Mask couldn’t be more timely and more needed right now and lived up to expectations, even at £55 a tube! It’s quite tingly in feel – camphor and menthol – in a soothing way rather than an alarming way; very cooling if you get a hot and bothered scalp. Obviously, the base of it is Hungarian Moor mud which is what the brand is famed for (one of my favourite balm cleansers of all time made by Omorovicza) which is naturally rich in calcium and magnesium that help to draw out impurities.
You leave it on for 20 minutes or so before you wash your hair to allow the salicylic acid (a BHA commonly used in blemish treatments for its exfoliating properties) to unblock any follicles that need it and then rinse. I did a bit of scalp massage as well. After that, just use your shampoo and conditioner as normal. I would definitely say I found it soothing although I think I will need to use it more to get the full exfoliating benefits – I did however, have exceptionally nice hair that day in terms of feel and shine and for two days after that so without being able to prove the link exactly, I did feel that the mask brought something much needed to the party. I’ll use it all up willingly and gladly – the tube comes with a nozzle and I found that you don’t need to use much at all to get a full scalp covering. Dear Jane,
Thanks for this post. I have terrible problems with my hair being fragile and growing so slowly, and my scalp being rashy and itchy. I’ll definitely try this.
I’d be very interested to hear and other products you like.
Thank you,
Hannah
Not having had scalp problems before it’s really hard for me to say but I know that anything Philip Kingsley (now ably run by his daughter Annabel) is great for scalps – they have special flaky, itchy scalp products. There’s also a new range on SpaceNK called Briogeo that looks promising.
